Topic: The Two DeLoreans of 1885

Whenever people make the observation about two DeLoreans in the year 1885 in the 1990 film Back to the Future Part III, why do they assume this is the solution to getting back to 1985?

If Doc Brown put the DeLorean there as a safe hiding spot and for Marty to find after he received Doc's letter in 1955. Wouldn't this technically be the same DeLorean?

Doc constantly warns Marty about coming into contact with his future or past self due to paradoxes (which we discover wasn't true in this sense), how would an inanimate object coming within close proximity of it's past self not cause a paradox? Sure, same rules would apply as above, but if they simply took the gasoline from this DeLorean and put it in the future DeLorean then this would be a guaranteed paradox, right?

Because then the DeLorean would not have enough gasoline to get Marty back to 1885.

So how is the two deloreans even a helpful solution or does Back to the Future follow wibbly wobbly timey wimey rules of time travel?

Pretty much every movie or television series that deals with time travel follows wibbly wobbly timey wimey rules of time travel.

I've loved the BTTF films since I was a toddler (and I've always wondered in the back of my mind if Doc Brown was inspired by Robert Zemeckis' being introduced to Syntax) and I never realized this.

What I always wondered is why Doc Brown wasn't able to modify the DeLorean to run on ethanol. In the movie he tries the strongest whiskey the bartender has, but why couldn't Doc buy several bottles and distill them to 90+% ethanol? The DeLorean would have run poorly and it would have taken a toll on the engine, but it only needed to reach 88 mph for a few seconds and then they'd be safe in 1985.
