I boil mine in the kettle for about 10 minutes or so.

Until they're done.

Quail eggs. Best when raw.

I let them come to a boil then turn off the stove and cover for ten minutes. Then I run them under cold water.

The yolk is the best part of eating them raw. I can eat raw yolk all day long.

I don't boil them. Crack 'em in a pan and watch 'em sizzle

It used to take 3:30 to soft boil an egg now it takes longer, about 5 or 6. Some say this is due to a change in farming practices or the chicken's diet, especially when they want to talk utter site.

The local shop has started selling them but they look a bit pointless.

Other then the occasional Sake bomb made with a Quail egg and I only do that when a friend orders a round

I find them best as in the pic. A Quail egg alone on a bed of Sushi rice is terrific HOWEVER its best when its combined with Salmon eggs.
I suspect the taste of the Quail egg if compared with a chicken egg is about the same - the big difference is the ratio of Yolk to White - Lots of Yolk and very little White

So its a texture mouth feel kinda thing. Very tasty combo. The few times I have tried them cooked - Meh

I've had raw quail egg on sushi rice and I've had salmon roe, but not together. It does sound like a good combination.
