This so hard. I was 99% sure this was a BeckyPost™ when I read the headline.
As for police editing Wikipedia... doesn't surprise me one bit. After recent news stories about police falsifying police reports, it seems the police are just as willing as anyone else to lie and deceive people in order to paint themselves in a better light.
As to the article in the OP, I loved “Garner raised both his arms in the air" was changed to “Garner flailed his arms about as he spoke.” Putting your arms in the air: Compliant and non-threatening? Aggressive? Meh. It could go either way according to the police.

Can't say I'm surprised. NYPD should have a policy where officers are only allowed to edit Wikipedia from their homes so it's less obvious.

I don't think some of those edits were that bad. It's not Wikipedia's job to make police brutality sound appaling, or to judge the actions of the NYPD. I approve of the changes "head into the sidewalk", "respiratory distress" and "chokehold or headlock". I disapprove of "Garner flailed his arms about" and "Use of the chokehold is legal”.
