If you follow the news - Many Chinese firms work employees to the point of suicide. A model that long term does not work much like slave labor works for limited periods of time successfully but is not a solution that other nations want to adapt Except from time to time 3rd world nations still do that

Typically people get fed up and rebel. Much like when labor in US rebelled from unfair labor practices and formed unions. Of course unions became so strong they ended up stifling production.
Chinese rebelled against the one child policy and other changes have taken place in a positive direction. China did not give a shit about pollution until recently when the air in several large cities got so horrid - Chinese Gov then noticed how that hurt tourism in Beijing as well as production in factories. So now they are paying attention.
