Please tell us about your time in dubbo Australia. Was this around the time that skylab fell to earth?

Mission control we have a time line problemo
Space labs was kaput almost a couple of decades b4 my time in Dubbo. And from memory hunks of Space labs ended up in Perth which is opposite at the other end of Australia.
For the 1st 52 Globlastars, Dubbo was the key Tracking Command Control station for launches from Cape Kennedy/Canaveral. All Delta II's gave berth to each of the 4 Satellites deployed directly over head of Dubbo. I was there for 6 months for the first two launches and for tearing my hair out re the 2nd launch had Satellites each looking for Earth yet the Earth sensor was miss wired to sense the Sun and the Sun sensor was wired to sense the Earth - the the Babies were in total miss orientation until a software patch flipped the sensors in order to stop the Satellites from spinning.
Basically good memories. The myth of Aussies with shrimp on Barbbie is just that - Aussie Bar-B-Q is a flat griddle so one can fry an egg. I ended up importing Bar-B-Q's from States in order to grill up the great local Lamb and sea food imported from Sydney.
Memories of a very cute Gal who was VP of local bank that held cash as needed as much construction had yet to be completed and that day she asked me wot I thought of her city Population 38,000 and I said well there is not really ANYTHING going on in this city - She said wot wot wot? Rodeo once a year and I forget but every 3 months they had an event at the fair grounds -
Town had just one base station for Cell phones and land lines were good for dial up speeds of 12.8 KB's but only gave 9.8 most of the time. I had lots of time to do moon bounce play and attempts to bounce signals off the Sun - Never did actually recover anything I tossed at it. Did wake up a French Spy Satellite that was dead on arrival and French took it away from me with a thank you.
Previous experience was in Canberra for US Gov - So OP how is it you bring up Dubbo?
