the best thing you can do is just ignore it. there's no way you're convincing anyone of it if they believe it, it's something people just have to figure out on their own one way or the other.
so just ignore it and one day if there's enough people that DO just ignore it then no one will pay any attention to it anymore. fighting it just draws attention to it and always gives them more ammunition, "look how we're persecuted, blah blah blah."

i think "god" would know the difference between someone who has actual faith and would be "deserving" of a reward by his own published standards
and someone who believes out of fear and lacks the conviction to believe despite the promise of punishment/reward.
lots of people say they are christian because they thing going through the motions is all they need to do. it's like a lazy half-hearted attempt at cashing in on a death lottery and i assure you if god is real that sort of "reasoned belief" pisses him off. god doesn't ask you to make excuses for your belief or to rationalize it, god says to have faith and to believe regardless of anything else.
