not as bad, now it's mostly just cold, but there is still some bitter-ass-cut-right-through-you-to-the-bone winds here and there.

yeah, we see so few of them it would cost us more to "prepare" to handle a snow day than it costs us to just shut down for a day or two.
we've got a few dozen sand trucks for the whole metroplex, and that's it. no one here has snow chains (nor can you buy them locally) and the city doesn't own a single plow or anything like that (not that we ever get enough for a plow to do anything.)
mostly days like this people only get out and drive to the grocery store at 20mph because no one here knows how to drive on wet roads, let alone roads with patchy icy spots. we don't totally shut down, though, only nonessential businesses and like schools and stuff. everything may close early though, but pretty much the Grocery Stores and Gas Stations are open and that's about all you can expect. i'm sure some other businesses are open, but no one is doing any business today

Yes Propane is somewhat clean burning compared to Coal CO2 wise
In an enclosed space many many die when propane is used as a fuel. Propane only produces 60% of the CO2 Coal produces but hey you get to live (passed out) somewhat longer.
