I have issues sometimes especially with phoning strangers for a personal call but mostly am over it and I did it by just forcing myself to answer the phone
Because it turns out that the process of picking up was the part that was the issue and not talking to the other person

Is it an actual phobia, or just avoidance?
I'm not afraid to answer the phone, but I don't get phone calls so I'd rather not be bothered with going and fetching whoever it's intended for. Plus, messages are more likely to reach their target if they're left via the answering service instead of me trying to write something down and remember to pass it along later.

I get really nervous about routine calls. I do answer and I force myself to make calls. It's just sometimes I have to calm myself down for awhile afterwards.

Never really had a phobia as such, but I used to get anxious about making calls. It only went away when I made myself answer/make calls, like TheOwl said.
The thing I still hate doing, is leaving answering machine messages. I just don't like the idea of somebody later playing back my voice. It's weird but I hate it.

I'm fine meeting people. I find in-person meetings much easier. There's body language to read and to use, and it doesn't seem as "final" if you say something wrong somehow, idk.

I have no problem saying something wrong on the phone, I am aggressive and rude on the phone, I sometimes avoid it because it is so easy to be an asshole. Talking face to face I am polite and considerate.

I am a bad interrupter in general, mostly from anxiety rather than rudeness I think, but it's worse over the phone because there's no body language to read. I feel bad about interruptions a lot after I hang up. I am working on it.
