it's good! i was really thinking a breaking bad spin-off was going to be mediocre at best, but they've really got an interesting show. Bob odinkrik (or whatever) is really nailing his performance, and the plot feels really solid. I like where they picked up in his life and they've managed to not ruin the first episode with blatant exposition, which was fantastic. and really we don't know too much about Saul's future from Breaking Bad.
breaking bad spoiler: we know he can't die we know he can't get disfigured, but most of that stuff you already kind of expect out of a TV shows main character arc. breaking bad was pretty exceptional with walter white's resolution and we know at least that can't happen to Saul by the end of his show, but other than that his whole life is essentially fair play. in fact, i could totally see this show playing out and ending with an "after breaking bad" ending.
i kind of wonder how much screen time Bob Odinkirk has in breaking bad. i mean, i could see them chipping out all of his scenes, adding some extra "what Saul was doing when Walter wasn't looking scenes" and making the entirety of the breaking bad period play out over a few episodes at the end of Better Call Saul. then, resolve his character after the breaking bad period, and then you could have a completely up in the air resolution for Saul Goodman.
Just some food for thought, anyway, so far i'm liking it a lot. i can't say it'll be as good as breaking bad, because that show was a masterpiece, but so far Better Call Saul has my attention. and it's funny too. i wonder if the tone will change as it did in breaking bad as things got more and more serious.(Edited 2 minutes later.)
