Thanks in part to Rimffiti8989 for giving me the IP of a server he found which allows griefing and raiding.
He also says cursing isn't discouraged either.

Corporal Catherine,i received your telex and i left with a scouting party to check it out. maybe it could work, but i didn't see factions. there was some kind of protection on some private property but i did see a lot of bombed out forts. lots of players it seems, and some kind of dedicated PvP zone they call Castle, which looks like you warp there for Domination PvP or something. it's opt in, but the rest of the world appeared to have PvP as well. So it looks like a big PvP world with limited protection with a WoW style PvP zone that i guess awards some benefit for holding it. It also had auctioneer i guess which was spamming chat and was fucking annoying. but i heard people talking about raiding players so that's all fine.
find out more details about the mods they are using and how they all work and send me an additional report.

Did you visit their Red or Blue server?
The Red server is their first factions server; blue is their newest one apparently. Right click with the compass in hand.
I did notice they have a PvP game mode in their lobby too.
Rimffiti8989 is on their Blue server.

@previous (Catherine !TGirlYJKXM)i don't know. i lost my compass while engaged in PvP with the enemy. currently, i'm on an island in the middle of the ocean. there are ruins of long destroyed failed civilizations far off the coast in the sea. it's a couple of days voyage from spawn. i headed towards the setting sun and went lefterly. you'll run across a swampland full of mushrooms and there i spent the first night digging into the mountainside. it was a productive evening, we now have iron boots and a helmet to add to the war chest. the next day i found a long river. i proceed in the direction of the rotating sky by a lefterly heading until the river switched back and forth and became a vast ocean. at that point i headed left by righterly and then straight by lefterly for a while. due leftish from the mouth of the river. after spending an evening on the water navigating the treacherous route i stopped on this island where i've been looting ruins and have mostly come up dry.
i like the area though, i'm building a small house. i don't know how to properly survey the area or whatever for factions or claim land, but i'm not in charge of logistics. technically, Catherine, that is your job. so, first things first, Cathy, follow my directions and meet me on my island. i've left some mushroom soup for you in a stolen chest on the first floor of the house i built. and bring some wool, we'll need some beds.

You get your compass whenever you log onto the server, think of it more of a network. It's how you get to the factions server. If you're in PvP mode, just relog.
I assume you found your way around, but are you on Red or Blue?
Also, this server is fucking active. There's like 600 players.

There is two ways to get there. Right clicking with compass in hand which brings up a UI with a blue and red wool block in an inventory, clicking on it takes you to that server. The other way are the portals, they are color coded with red and blue. There is a green one apparently but it's blocked, possibly a future update. Also, to go back to the lobby, do /hub.
Going to get the information you seek from /plugins, but not sure if it's restricted. Then I'll ask around.

lol spawnkillers; the server gives you enchanted "Newbie" armor and upon my leaving of the castle on Red was attacked and lost it. They have a farm kit which consists of nether wart, cactus, sugar cane, and seeds and then one for 64 torches. Their member kits does not have enchanted armor but does have an enchanted sword.
And yep, /plugins is restricted for admins; not sure how to find out what plugins they are running without looking suspicious. I do know it's the factions plugin we're used to.
