Need to review the Kerbs Cycle which I think takes at least 20 mins of running walking swimming whatever is Aerobic and a quick lookC
Duration of Exercise
The second component of cardiovascular exercise is the duration, which refers to the time you've spent exercising. The cardiovascular session, not including the warm-up and cool-down, should vary from 20-60 minutes to gain significant cardiorespiratory and fat burning-benefits. Each time you do your cardiovascular exercise,
try to do at least 20 minutes or more. Of course, the longer you go, the more calories and fat you'll "burn" and the better you'll condition your cardiovascular system. All beginners, especially those who are out of shape, should take a very conservative approach and train at relatively low intensities (50-70% max HR) for 10-25 minutes. As you get in better shape, you can gradually increase the duration of time you exercise.

No one has ever asked me about time for miles.
No one is going to get an answer either
But bottom line is that everyone who wants to remain healthy OR not grow over sized - Or be able to eat more of the food that makes them happy
Needs at least 20 Mins of exercise and I think that is the define of Aerobic with 20 Mins at a defined Max heart rate.
I only do more so as to - Well the reason keeps changing but it includes - Need to keep my HDL high n LDL low - Need to burn Calories so as to eat more of wot I like
AND AND Endorphins. I get those dancing for extended periods of time and the daily long beach Run most certainly ends up making me HIGH -
I blew it this AM by Surfing much to long in early AM and then it got HOT HOT and is 84 F at moment and will drop to a decent running temp near Sunset 73 degrees which is still on the edge of to hot

If you can run the whole ten miles without having to stop every so often to walk and catch your breath, you are in very good shape!

IF I had to do the run currently? 86 degrees - Now there is a nice Wind blowing so in one direction IF IF I had to do the 10 miles yes I could - BUTTTTT in the other direction I wood finish the run mad as fuck re temp and be thinking about a REAL REAL Cold beer - the type one gets from putting in Freezer so there at bits of ice crystals forming on edge.
Running out of breath? Only way I could do that wood be to run faster then my regular max heart rate - Well of course NOT max but I think its 85% or at least years ago that was wot I was going for
All I no is I keep a log and its detailed. So far I have not increased my time - Nor have I decreased it. Nor can it be exact re ups and downs of bluff trails. I donnnnn't do that many up's and downs but the trail conditions change re having to avoid weeds and Cactus leaves which later I go back if close and toss over the edge to get out of my way OR on occasions I do have a shovel and will even clear a trail - even have recent thank you's butttt I am so far behind promise's I made to self to do more trail maintenance work.

Damn your reply - Just OUCH -
First I was born in LA and grew up on Long Beach area age 7 or so on till Marriage
Betting 95% of time Christmas and New Years will be in 70's and its most common to see a lot of Autos with East coast plates because of the weather
2nd Today was in high 80's and forcast is FRI SAT SUN MON 79 78 74 69
The Damn you has to do with YOU getting me to look at LA forcaste Fri Sat Sun Mon - 85 84 81 75
I am driving UP to Los Angeles on Sat for a all day/night Mardi Gras party and that heat - It is wot it is but yes for the most part So Cal has one season
San Diego used to be more unpredictable - Only 120 - 140 miles South but the Mexico coastal influence has a larger effect here then LA which has its own issues - Now with supercomputers the forecasts are uniquely accurate. They predict rain drops 15 hours in advance and I time my running to exactly match best conditions vs Tides and it shocks me how accurate they are.
