You are probably thinking of the animated film All Dogs Go to Heaven released by MGM in late 1989. It is a good movie, but it is was not intended as serious theological commentary.

It depends on whom you talk to. The general Christian consensus is that Christ "preached to the dead" following his crucifixion, allowing the deceased to receive salvation. All of the Patriarchs (and their women) are believed to have joined Christ when he ascended to Heaven.
The ancient Jewish perspective is a little hazy on the subject, as the Torah has no clearly defined afterlife. Only a very few people were explicitly described as being taken to heaven (Enoch and Elijah for example). Traditionally speaking, everybody else seems to have been "gathered unto their ancestors" in Sheol ("a place of darkness to which all dead go"). Later traditions mention the virtuous dead joining Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in a "place of comfort", although neither Adam nor Eve are mentioned in this context.
Any Jewish users care to explain the modern Rabbinical take on the afterlife? I for one would be interested in hearing more.

Paul is very clear that it was Adam who introduced Sin into the world, Jesus being the counterpart that brought sin OUT of the world. This obviously means that Eve was innocent of wrongdoing, and in the prophesy right afterwards, hers ends on a much more positive note's than Adam's.
