So let me share a major frustration - US Gov aka NASA got totally out of putting up commercial Satellites PERIOD
This was very profitable albeit it depended on using Rockets like Delta n Atlas originally designed to Nuke something - And to put up high tek stuff that weighed not so much
Russia who could not get with advanced electronic technology ended up making Monster Rockets so as to launch heavy weight Stuff
With USA out of such Biz and I do mean OUT - In waiting for Private companies to get with it - Russia gets all the business yet relationships are now horrid just horrid re Putin
So that leaves companies who want to exit doing biz with Russia and using one of several private companies trying to get in2 launch biz - Well HELL now they see hand writing on wall and decide to make all Satellites much lighter so as to use non Nuke like Rockets for getting stuff UP THERE.
Killer Lettuce This Sucks just Sucks - New Gen Satellites now have New Gen thrusters for final orbit Stuff Electronic Propulsion - Ion engines going back to 60's and such has been used for a lot of stuff for years cause Hughes made a fortune suing US Gov to recover theft of years n years - However the Ions were only part of a much more complex Thruster System.
Now all the other complex stuff has been tossed out so as to accommodate these new private companies who wood never imagine building a massive Rocket like Ruskies or USA Atlas or Deltas

Most Excellent Very funny
The lowest orbits for LEO's are US Gov or other Gov recon satellites using Optical cameras. I larned in Rocket Science school that 75 miles is considered the nominal reentry De-Orbit point.
Over the years I have put up a lot of LEO's and kept them up but I am not the person who brings them down on purpose. That is a whole different set of skills I have so far not been tasked with.
I have viewed Re-Con Satellites at 80 Miles up but have no info on how long they ride the low elliptical arc before going back up. Mars, one could get much closer to the planet re less gravity and no real atmosphere drag.
Comes down to 4 a minimum height ...The object must reach sufficient speed to maintain its trajectory - Enough fuel to keep this going in wot we call station keeping and the lower you go the more heat you produce re atmosphere drag, which requires more thrust so its a loosing proposition if you want to have many orbits and not have a Fireball.
