I've been looking, but it's a little hard to find grief/raid allowed servers that allows profanity.

ssss.me is a laggy piece of shit.
What is weird is I did find a factions server that seems to allow cursing because it has a lot of players and can sometimes reach max-capacity of 150/150, but they're switching to Towny soon.
There is another one that adds flyable spaceships and planets to the game which has Towny for the settler career path and Factions for the Pirate path.

So far I've yet to find a server that allows cursing.

The specific server I mentioned above will probably disable the nation building feature while leaving the town up.
I could look for a Towny server if you want to expand passed factions.

The one that adds spaceships is called StarQuest by the way.

that didn't answer my question. so towny will (by itself and without a nationbuilding mod) allow for cowardly permanent protection? or can we declare war on a towny server and TnT cannon them as is our sovereign right?

see, cathy, the reason i like factions is because we have the ability to attack them and destroy them and loot all their shit while providing limited protection from small acts of random griefing that would normally be completely out of control.

but if a mod allows for 100% permanent protection (like world guard) then it's garbage

I am not too familiar with the towny plugin, sorry. I just know nations can go to war, not sure how it works.
The server I'm currently playing on hasn't switched over yet, but it's not really your usual Minecraft server.
There is no nationbuilding mod.

Yeah, it's more for RPG servers; truth be told be there are still a lot of factions servers but they do not allow profanity which is something a member here, not gonna drop names, essentially requested.
