With a drive that size, I'm guessing you don't torrent a shitload of games, movies, or anything that is likely to eat up a lot of space. Do you think you might suddenly use 9.8 gigs without realizing it? Regardless of whether some program says you are "in the red", you have almost half your drive free. What are you worried about?

You can skip rebooting if you permanently delete the files in WinDirStat. Or elsewhere in windows explorer just select stuff and press Shift+Del on the keyboard. Bam, deleted forever.. As far as windows is concerned anyway.

Hmm... It's difficult to see what's happening to all that space without poking around on the disk. What do get if you run disk clean utilities, defrag, or a chkdsk? Did something massively up shadow storage for you when you weren't looking?
