Its not like she jumped off a cliff. Lots of people have ran into glass doors.... And lived to tell the tale.

How would she have died? It's not like she hit a wall with 200 km/h... that kind of glass is sturdy but brittle and when it shatters it shatters into million of tiny pieces... would be more horrible is she run through normal window glass, than she would have been cut up a lot, but still survive.

tempered glass. Non-tempered glass would have fucked her up royally, and it does kill people semi-often. The last case I heard about was a boy bouncing a basketball and the ball hit the window sending a big shard of glass right into his jugular. And those are just deaths, non-tempered glass cuts the shit out people all the time. Years ago one of my neighbors was carrying an armload of stuff outside and hit the storm door just right with his arm (he thought it was unlatched) and the glass broke cutting his arm down to the bone, he almost bled out.

back in my old job my colleagues were lifting a huge, thick piece of glass to move it into the truck, one of them let it slip a bit and hit the ground, a piece of it broke off and cut his thumb so deeply, it almost chopped it off, it was dangling on a piece of flesh

yikes! I might have fainted if I saw that. I don't handle blood well. When I was younger I really wanted to be a paramedic, but the more I thought about the gore the less I wanted to do that job. I hope the guy kept his thumb.
