Oregon-based Territorial Seed Company announces the US unveiling of ‘Ketchup ‘N Fries’, a tomato grafted with a potato (or is it the other way around?). It took a decade’s worth of research to create this masterpiece. Being called a “tomtato,” the plant combines to nightshade family members (Solanacaea), with staggered maturity times so that the plant can focus all of its energy into making cherry tomatoes before forming over 4 pounds of all purpose potatoes. - See more at:

Had to review the nightshade family. Did not no until just now that Chile peppers are related.
All have glycoalkaloids which is probably why your hippy wants no part in such a veggy with such alkaloids.
You probably no a green potato can make you very sick and with sprouts could even kill.
I used to study the nightshade family re a interest in the native Indians that used it in ceremonies - Lots of it around my bluffs
