Huge Earthquakes have permanently turned our Earth off axis. And Meteor hits have done that as well. One Monster Meteor could drive the sun off axis a bunch - of course there wood be other issues like all of a sudden one could see the sun (assuming survival of jolts) and then the Sun wood be blocked by dust for a long time

Well, obviously, the sun doesn't "turn on". The Earth rotates, brining it in and out of view. For this to happen, the Earth would have to very suddenly rapidly rotate to for your location to be under the sun, again. And I assume that this would not be too good for the planet or its inhabitants.
But, yes, you would probably be both confused and disorientated!
