Consider this actually possibility
Nori - Thin Seaweed for wrapping Sushi or as toppings for Japanese Soup - does come in very thick forms so more durable
One could make wrapping paper out of this so instead of having to put paper in the trash and chop down tress to make it - One can grow this in ocean quickly as renewable resource
Just a little bit of Engineering and going GREEN with wrapping paper - OP shall WE get a patent on this?
