anyone know what this is or care? it's a pretty novel game. There are two "teams", one team is a team of hunters: 4 players play as a Trapper, a Medic, Support, or Damage. The other "team" is one player playing as a giant monster.
The goal for the hunters is to use teamwork to trap and kill the monster. As the monster you play alone as an Overpowered creature that can evolve and grow larger and deal massive amounts of damage and soak even more. Your job is to solo the 4 player team of hunters and kill them before they kill you.
each class (including the monster) all have unique abilities for each specific role. everyone has jet-packs and the monster can climb anything but map boundaries. The monster is very fast and can jump long distances and fuck people up right fast. I've played a few matches as the monster and it's quite fun.
In the first match as the monster i just ran. You get about a 15 second head start and so i ran around the edge of the map and started eating creatures so that i could grow and evolve into a class 2 monster. The hunters followed my tracks easily and were right on my tail. I'd get a moment to kill something and eat it and then have to run away before the trapper could catch up and harpoon me. After about 5-8 minutes or so of just running and eating i finally gained enough size to evolve. So, i hit V and the animation started and the evolve timer counted down and the hunters caught up with me. They set up a containment field and harpooned me right as the timer hit zero and i finished evolving. As a class 2 monster i was huge and had a fuckton of health. their weapons had very little effect on me. I just kept using my abilities and trying to kill them all. I'd try and kill the healer and then i'd go after the damage dealer, but he was quick and would either shield my attacks or use his mobility to dodge my strong attacks. I had two of them down at one point and i should have camped their dead bodies to prevent a revive but i went after the trapper and the support guy revived the medic and the tank. ultimately i wasn't good at dealing with them when they were all spread out, i probably should have tried to eat one of their bodies to prevent a revive and force a respawn. Also i probably could have broken out of the containment area and tried to evolve to a class 3 monster which is just huge. Anyway, they ultimately whittled me down and killed me after about a 15 minute fight. it was great fun.
The next match i did worse, i couldn't even get to class 2 before they contained me and as a small class one monster you're not as hard to kill. but i was trying to eat more at a time and i wasn't running as much in the beginning, so i think the way to play is by avoiding a direct fight as long as possible.

i'm getting good with the monster. i use the head start to send the hunters the wrong way and i backtrack and look for buffs and food. if they catch up pre-evolved i try and kill one and escape, go stealth, and evolve. so i'm at least playing long games and hitting stage 2. i almost squeaked out a victory, but not yet. it's pretty hard.

Yeah, from what I saw, you shouldn't fight the humans until you're stage 3. They're got all sorts of nasty tricks they can use on you.

actually i won my first match by just waiting for them and ambushing their medic. works great against people that are low level (ie new) and don't know all their class abilities. not so much people that know what's going on.

really stage 2 gives you an advantage, stage 3 you're pretty much certain to win
Also i've played enough to unlock the Kraken, the second monster. it's great. it flies and is fast and has some pretty OP attacks. at stage 3 the thing is like unstoppable

@previous (FuckAlms !vX8K53rFBI)i would normally do screenshots and gameplay videos, but it's a closed beta thing and i don't know if they want people streaming it. There's actually a "watermark" on the screen as i play with my steam ID and some weird numbers and i have no idea if that's there to identify people streaming and close their access or if it's just there. So i'll wait until feb 10th when it releases and i'll do some videos then. as for screen shots i can share some generic ones off the web

then there is the Wraith. i have not played it, i have not hunted it. It's the third to unlock and not many people have it yet. from what i hear it is excellent at stealth and sneak attacks and deals massive spike damage but is pretty squishy. To kill it you have to catch it, but to catch it you have to find it. Find IT before it finds YOU.
