Topic: question: what have the jews been doing for the last 2000 years?

squeegee started this discussion 11 years ago #39,467

so, like, you read a lot about them in the old testament, but after they killed jesus you don't really hear anything else until 1945 when they were given israel. then you hear all kinds of stuff after that.

i guess i'm aware of the whole "international jew" thing, but that was really recently still.

so i guess what i'm asking is what were the jews doing between the period that they killed jesus and then became international scapegoats for everything bad happening?

there's like 1800 years of history that's just a big blank page for me. anyone care to fill me in on jewish history? was there a diaspora or something?

i guess i need to google jerusalem becuase i'm not exactly sure who was ruling there. so i know like rome broke apart and then i think there was the byzantine empire or something in the east? so i guess the jews lost power and were slowly pushed out by the muslims over the last 800 years?

did the jews just go back to wandering? so i guess they just started spreading around the world after that and "lost" their homeland?

i seriously don't know why exactly they were regarded as nationless wanderers or whatever. did they ever really have their own nation or was jerusalem always basically part of some empire?

they were kicked out and barred from returning to the city many, many times apparently. so i guess they were pretty well forced out and had to settle elsewhere over like a 1000 year period over and over.

also they've been pretty much under the thumb of somone's empire for actually like 4k years. so i guess... i don't understand how they got scapegoated.

i guess it's just the familiar story or blaming societal problems on immigrants? is that what happened? i mean that still happens today...

I heard during those 1800 years that the rabbis used to have a lot of control over them and what dogma was correct. Like if you decide to be a secular jew or share Kaballah with gentiles, you'd get executed.

And Zionism is an attempt to bring that control back. There's lots more of this stuff:

It would've been nice if they were given a homeland like Birobidzhan far earlier.

In 1934 the Soviet Government established the Jewish Autonomous Region, popularly known as Birobidzhan, in a sparsely populated area some five thousand miles east of Moscow. Designated as the national homeland of Soviet Jewry, Birobidzhan was part of the Kremlin's effort to create an alternative to Palestine.

That means no having to deal with angry Muslims all around them. No draft. No hot weather.

and now that i think about it xenophobia (which was pretty terrible over the last few hundred years) makes a lot more sense than 2000 year old illuminati conspiracy shit.

i mean even the catholics who were trying to rule the world couldn't manage to hold it together for any real length of time. so i doubt a spread out, decentralized group would ever be able to truly weild any power. i mean even as a full blown country they seem to be pretty... not in control of much...

Karl Marx for instance was descended from rabbis and during the time when religion based on supernatural was waning, started his own religion based on class war.

Over 1000 years. That's longer than the USA (the most powerful nation) has existed. That's longer than any Chinese dynasty. It's longer than the Roman Empire lasted, albeit The Catholic Church was a kind of continuation of Rome. The Catholic Church exterminated native European religion and replaced it with their own, which was a massive change.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumerian_King_List -- the oldest kings lived a very long time. Antediluvian rulers lived tens of thousands of years. Post-Antediluvian rulers lived thousands for some time. If you add up all the timelines, and chart it with human evolution it adds up to an interesting start of about 450,000 years ago, to Homo heidelbergensis, the first pre-human species to bury its dead.

Conspiracy theories are cool by the way. Don't forget a jew started the game series Deus Ex. There's awesome quotes in the first game. http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Deus_Ex

@525,249 (F)
yeah, but we also killed the irish in the streets becuase they were "ruining the city." so her words, today especially, are pretty hollow. today we don't want immigrants that aren't already successful basically. yesterday on NPR i heard someone say, "if you want to work and earn, we want you, if you want to mooch off our social welfare, gtfo," basically.

I dunno about that. What I know is that Irish besides forcibly starved with 1.5 million dead, were shipped off as slaves in the Americas and treated worse than blacks. Because blacks they had to pay some tribal chieftans in Africa for (white people couldn't survive very long in Africa back then so they couldn't snatch slaves hiding in the jungle) whereas the Irish they just snatched up out of their homes.

Immigrants tend to have a far easier time getting jobs than citizens for some reason.

Because SJs want to regulate who you can hire based on their skin color/religion/country of birth etc. They need to let businesses hire based on qualifications and work on making educational opportunities equal. When a black man can be as proficient in math as a Chinese man and a Mexican can write computer software on the same level as a Caucasian, then you won't have to worry about diversity quotas.

interesting. but i am in the camp that believes no human has ever lived a life much longer than the average at the time. no human has probably ever lived longer than todays longest lived humans. a human living past 100 in biblical times or before is just a story, and matching up with early human burial is merely coincidental.

i just have a hard time believing a single sentence from the bible that says moses lived 900 years or whatever is not actual proof.

well, technically the jews had the land way before muslims. the muslims took it for themselves a long time ago, then had it taken away from them and were forced to share it, and then it was taken back.

idk, jerusalem has changed hands 44 times or something in its long history.

no one can really claim it as their birthright. even people born there are all decended from usurpers. i think even the jews that originally settled there took it from someone. the site goes way back into the bronze age, so there's no telling who "has rights to it."

it's not like america where the land was undeniably stolen from the native americans who settled here 40k years ago in the stone age.
