This is how Hitler started out. Brainwash the masses to hate one group. Use that talking point to gain political power. Once you've got the people backing you up you can do anything you fucking want. This is how it all starts.

Oh my god. That's sickening... I just hope that more progressive influences can counteract this over time, but it looks like this is the direction Russia is going in, for now.

As for whether he's going to go "full-Hitler", I think that's a big conclusion to jump to. Plenty of other government leaders do bigoted shit and don't go on to become the next Hitler.
