what do you want to know about the mexicans, i know quite a lot about their culture. Also i'm pretty familiar with Argentinian culture but i've travel there far fewer times than mexico. Also i'm surrounded by tex-mex culture, not argentenian, so i'm more familiar with the barrio brand of north Mexican/south texan Mexicali type than the more centrally located never-left-mexico mexicans. Not familiar with canadians or their culture except to say the little i've experienced of it appeared to be like a "super yankee" or like a really snooty Midwesterner who learned french because they didn't have to learn spanish in school. but yeah, i'm not nearly as familiar with canadians as mexicans. i've only spend a grand total of 42 days time in a variety of european countries, mostly italy where i have relatives from my european side of the family. so i'd like to think i know something about northern italy in and around the Trento area. i've never known more laid back people, and they fucking love harley motorcycles there. and they put mussels and capers on pizza, but cooking in that region is heavily based on seafood. i have no idea how much of that is true around italy, but up there, fucking seafood everything. and their homes are much smaller than our homes here, but they are cozier and on much larger and more beautiful properties. Really, they didn't do the whole subdivision thing which was nice. We stayed at a relatives and i slept in basically a bunk bed in a loft space, it felt like what we'd call a ski lodge over here, or like a condo-shaped house if that makes any sense. Anyway, i fucking loved it. We'd have huge breakfasts with wine and warm milk and we ate every meal outside, it was nuts. They apparently did this every day, it was actually wonderful. then we'd go for walks and like go and visit and drink with neighbors or they'd come to meet us, the americans, at my relatives table. totally different attitudes than people over here, and everyone is so touchy-feely, no one over here even wants to sit next to you let alone hold your hands and kiss you and talk 1" from your nose.

not really, i presume your countries are smaller than our states and i have a good idea of what regional dishes to expect out of the south, north east and even the west coast and since California Spring Rolls are as common as New York Style Pizza, Louisianan Cajun jerk-chicken and chicago style hot dogs and southern chicken fried steak that... maybe.... maybe, you'd have heard about asparagus soup, especially if it was a known regional dish.

And here's where you went wrong. While they're definitely smaller in geographic size the cultural differences are nothing short of immense. Each country has their own states which also have cultural differences. In general there is also quite a higher population density, which adds to the diversity.

Asparagus is used heavily in germany, specially fresh asparagus when it's the season of picking. Funny thing is, since it's hard manual labour picking it (compared how easy it is to grow it, so germans grow a shitload on their fields), every season there is a flood of people from Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia etc... they all go to Germany and pick asparagus. Because, you know... germans are too fine to do such manual labour.
Anyway, I ate all kind of asparagus all across germany, and I don't like it. It's blah...
Also, while in Germany, ask locals where you can get awesome sausages (my advice hunt down some paprika wurst and make yourself a nice dinner). And if you wanna drink funny stuff, search for "Karamaltz". It's a non-alcoholic malt beer, that tastes weirdish caramelish. I was addicted to that stuff as a kid, and it's impossible to find it anywhere outside of Germany. Man I miss that drink...

it was delicious, and i've never found it anywhere in the US. I tried to make it with my mom, we were told to blend it all very smooth and then strain it through a cheese cloth i think it was. It's served very smooth and creamy and is savory and delicious. what we made tasted too chlorophylly and it was lumpy and chunky; not good.

500ml/18fl oz hot chicken stock (vegetarians may substitute vegetable stock)
salt and freshly ground black pepper
4 tbsp double cream
Preparation method
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over a medium heat. Add the onion and fry for four minutes, until softened.
Add the asparagus and cook for another two minutes.
Add the stock and bring to the boil. Season, to taste, with salt and freshly ground black pepper and reduce the heat to simmer for 5-7 minutes, until the asparagus is cooked through.
Add the cream and blend with a hand blender until smooth.
