i was running heavy equipment from italy into austria, i'm pretty sure they were stolen tractors, but i don't ask questions. in fact that's my company name, We Don't Ask Questions. just take out a 400,000k loan, it's only 5k a day to pay back and you'll pull at least that hauling by yourself freelance. use the money to get 2 trucks and hire a noob driver. they don't make much, but it's gravy.

i haven't gone bankrupt yet. and as a freelance trucker jobs pay twice as much.

Externally hosted imagethis is one of my trucks, a renault magnum. when i can get a better one i'll give this to a hired driver and at least get a premium hightop. But there's a lot of truck manufacturers, i think volvo makes a really nice truck? anyway, i'll have one with a nav system soon enough.

Oh, cat, have you messed with parking at loading docks or do you skip it? i'm getting not bad at it anymore, still hard though.

and did you know there's multiplayer somehow? how to do it?
also, any good mods around you know about? i want to pick up hookers at truck stops or pick up backpacking americans sell them into slavery or something. you know, trucker stuff.

I've been skipping them, but I've done them sometimes.
It's a challenge.

Is the Oculus Rift worth getting?

@522,798 (Bernie the Longhauler)
I was wondering if I should wait until I work up the money or just take out a loan.

the oculus rift is worth waiting for the consumer release. it'll have a lot more polish. This dev kit is cool, but it needs more work. also the games are pretty limited and not all of them work super well. And there's no hand tracking or 3d controller of any kind that comes with it. the consumer version will likely be paired with motion tracking hand held controllers and there will likely be more complete VR games.

you'd need a pretty beefy machine to run it as well, i bought a brand new graphics card recently to support it. i'm basically running the Dev Kit defaults in euro truck sim and the resolution is something like 1280x720 or something and everything is on low. it's super demanding, just so you know, and euro truck sim is really a pretty lightweight game. i messed with the settings and fucked it all up and had to reinstall the Oculus beta patch to fix it back. so i can't imagine what kind of system it'll take to run very high fidelity games. probably something a generation or two ahead of current equipment.

it kinda takes forever to work up the money taking jobs from other companies. and the 400k loan is the cheapest to pay back per dollar borrowed. it's 4x as expensive to take out 4 100k loans than 1 400k loan. so just get the 400k and 2 trucks and 1 driver for truck 2. i left myself about 30 grand or so and now im up to 90. i'll earn enough to buy a 3rd truck and hire a 2nd driver and this time i'll probably let myself dip below 10k on my cash reserve. enough to cover gas. with a third driver my guys will be pulling in probably 3-4k in profits a piece every day. that'll make covering overhead pretty easy.
