That's not all that uncommon. There are other people who enjoy talking about the historical, literary, cultural, or philosophical aspects of religion and sacred texts without feeling the need to believe in them. There are also people who have obtained doctorates in theological fields that have lost faith along the way but realize they just like thinking and talking and writing about the topic.
