1st if any of you ever end up in Mexico, or in my Hood - If you are in2 Seafood you do not want to miss Soup of the Seven Seas (Caldo de Siete Mares) A spicy blend of seafood, simple by comparison to Bouillabaisse yet a real treat. Religious in connection from some old Genesis bible thing.

A couple as in real married couple who surf here with me in Cardiff by the Sea, both work in Bio Sciences area - One for a company designing futuristic sex drugs and the other on classy DNA stuff for designer drugs of the future - One is from Northern Italian family n other Southern Italian roots - Parents both born in Italy and immigrated to New York City.

As kids they had great memories of Christmas Eve dinner which was all Sea food based. They were under the impression that was how parents did it in Italy. Apparently the history of this is now frazzled - Parents say it was more meat then fish back in old country and they picked up the Italian/American tradition in Little Italy New York City.

Kids moved off to University and that was the last Christmas Eve fish dinner each had - Then a couple weeks ago or so my friends who are fans of Jimmie Kimmel, were watching the night he had Marisa Tomei, on his show and they were talking about THEIR plans for Christmas day with the Feast of the Seven Fishes

Jimmie Kimmel said he was doing 23 fish dishes and Marisa Tomei said family on phone always ginned up recipe in advance but it always ends up exactly the same year 2 year and its more like 17 to over 23 dishes.

So my friends in search for a party idea decided Christmas eve was booked for everyone and New Years eve was wayyyy over booked with party invites - and No one... had set must do ...New Year day plans Other then to Surf

Party invites said NO Pot luck n No Wine please - Hosts wanted to control the menu and make it like at home in New York, Which was for each different based on one from South Italy roots n other North Italy -

I was asked to contribute but not in advance make a Caesar salad by the book. Wood have a crew for prep and was asked to be sure the Anchovies were NOT omitted nor wood an Anchovie free version exist!

From memory only a partial list
Broiled Mussels n Garlicky Herb Butter
Baccalà (salt cod) with pasta
Several (about 10) kinds of roasted whole fishes and memories of a terrific Barracuda n a bite of one done is roasted heirloom tomatoes that was a knock out dish.
Spicy Thai Squid With Chiles and Cilantro - WAS NOT a dish they had in New York with parents but decision to expand to thrill all of us and damn the dish was Orgasmic

Probably 10 different Shrimp dishes and the Shrimps were of different varieties like live Mexican whites n live from Thailand that are available year round here in Chinese supermarkets near by (30 min round trip drive)

Many Shrimp or Clams n Mussels in pasta - Clams Linguine and Lobster risotto cooked with a broth made from the lobster shells - WAS MULTI Orgasmic.

Desserts were on a table but NO ONE had room for even a lookC - Wine was totally a mix of Prosecco's - Italian inexpensive bubbly and some very... some not so very bubbly as designed. Lots of Black berries Raspberries and rose petals, but I chose to drink vino as designed with no need for berries but admit a few glasses later I sure did try the berries - Looks great in Glass but still prefer my fruit out of a cup. All the Proseccos were fun.

No gnarly waves to catch. At best 2 feet and weak 2Feets. Conditions are ideal re weather but not much action - Was in 30 mins b4 dawn and out about 2 3/4 hours later. Low tide BELOW C Level at momento and timing my beach run with Green Flash at Sunset 4:54 PM - Tide was a full -1 Foots moments ago and will still B at 0 at Green Flash momento

Last night it was Blue n can be Yellow to a pulsing Sunset but usually lasts only 1/2 to 3/4 seconds but have viewed a few that pulsed for seconds

I tend to use Yelp in general and friends n magazines that review places. Around here its far to many American type Chinese food places. One key clue as 2 if they can do the real thing if need be is simple test. Do they have any black beans to bring to table for lookC - If the place no has such then 4Get about it. Have story to share some other time about this

At least in USA and England quality of food even if not fully Chinese is trustworthy - There are a couple of places 10 minutes away that do use the real black beans and Green beans are the Loooooong Green beans which defines more Chinese then American - If place says Chop Suey then 4Get about it - No such dish from China - Still can be tasty but not really Chinese in same way Mc D's is not really a real Hamburger -

Search Google for example of Green Flash - Chose Green Flash - Post Green Flash - Wayyyyyyy to quick n of poor quality and last nights Green Flash was a Royal Blue then Yellow with tinge of Green

Surf 2day was totally FLAT FLAT FLAT as a Pancake so I n friends R off 4 Pancakes n Sausage n such for Brunch

On TC no such nonsense is necessary - Can directly upload 5 Megabit or more quality Photos

This is one more poor quality Example YET if U never got off chair n got out to see such and they exist at ANY Place Ocean Exists n crowds do come out to enjoy Sunsets n life and often here its with a illegal glass of wine in hand - No Alcohol is allowed at beach BUT if in Plastic no one whines - Me NEVER EVER drink out of Plastic Never NO NO
