As more people use smartphones as their mobile concierge, Qualcomm aims to provide always-on location awareness to every device, anywhere. Qualcomm IZat, a product of Qualcomm Atheros, Inc., transforms the way we think about “where” beyond a navigational fix. With accurate information about “who” and “what” is around us, IZat provides much-needed context to make life more simple and convenient – wherever you are.

Yeah. Here, I'll clarify.

You are getting a premier experience. In today's modern and fast-paced world, Qualcomm puts user convinience first for a truly breathtaking digital experience. Using the combined power of modern dual-processing and the latest in modern satellite technology, users are guaranteed the best in mobile digital computing.

TL;DR: we will capture and use your location (under a privacy and permissions scheme from the early aughts) to spam you with advertisements from the highest bidders of nearby stores and services.

We literally transform the way you think about "where" by replacing the parts of your brain that deal with spatial awareness with a smartphone with Qualcomm IZat.

> why does my phone keep bugging me about it?

Hummmmmmm Need to know a bit more about how you changed some defaults!!! People who no want to be tracked by such super technology -Sure have good reasons but there is a RIGHT Way and a very VERY wrong way to kill tracking.

Ya DONT want to block the Atheros technology to the point where all 911 sees in GPS only location - Which SUCKS!!! Ur life or others can depend on more better location pin point n GPS no give such unless one is a Military user.

Based on the message you keep getting I bet you have stopped the tracking in perhaps much to serious a way. Look at how you changed from default to custom - If it was just to stop Google Chrome from having any history on you that is ok and I think you are stuck with the message - Tell me the model of the phone and I can see if there is a quick way for you to eliminate such -

I am not doing this reply justice - HAVE friends who want to run for the 1st day of they year and most will not make the miles but its set up so ALL can at least be running into full ''GREEN FLASH Sunset 4:53PM n have only 3 minutes left to get down stairs to beach to meet the huge mixed group age ranging from 12 to a few even older then me - My task is to be sure ALL are still running at moment we stop for the Green Flash which is 100% 4sure 2nite

Then off to shower n clean up at friends for a party where its Italian based Seafood Feast with massive amounts of that Odd Italian like but very different from Champagne with lots o berries for colour tossed in with betting Rose petals

Give me more info on phone - n will be back 2morrow to reply

Betting I get talked out of the full 10 Myles 2nite but sure going to try HARD to get all 10 In -

ZoooOOOoooOOOOOOOOooooM----------------------------------------->

I love premier experiences, but I'm worried about the breathtaking aspect. How will I live if Qualcomm sucks all the air out of my lungs? Is this how Syntax keeps up with a grueling running, surfing, and swing dancing lifestyle well into his 70s?

It was bugging me every time I reboot wanting me to give it permission to do whatever the fuck IZat does.

> It was bugging me every time I reboot wanting me to give it permission to do whatever the fuck IZat does.

Ah only on reboot - So really no problemo really - OK anyway some quick background - Years ago when GPS was the only means to Locate AND still 2day if one only relies on GPS which includes the most expensive Stuff FAA uses - its only accurate to 3.5 meters = 11.5 feet at BEST Military gets it just a bit better. Clearly if one is landing a plane one does not rely on 11.5 Feet cause that might be grass/gravel - So a tiny company developed with patents using GPS and adding fixed accurate transmitters such as FAA Beacons n FM and Radio stations where locations are mapped super accurate by civil engineers. So its really simple for a Cell phone GPS chip to include the additional wide band receiver to pick up a bunch of local signals and use them n GPS to get more accuracy.

Qualcomm years ago bought that company for its patents. Years later Uni professors in Northern Calif who were close to Google Engineers (many of their students ended up working for Google) and as YOU may be aware Google set out to track people - not just wot they were searching for but the Physical presence of cell phone user.

So now Google with super computers figured out how to offer you with Chrome or Firefox a more better user experience. They track Metæ clone who goes to Starbucks and develops a Starbucks pattern - Metæ buys coffee at 8AM and 1PM n 4PM but not always at same Starbucks cause Metæ is on the hunt for new eye candy to wine n dine n coffee is a nice way to decided if Eye Candy is worth a quality dinner. But hey YOU not really aware of pattern YET Google now is - and Google wants to let YOU No you are in need of Caffeine and to help you THEY tell you that a Starbucks in just around the corner AND get this - If your pattern re wot U order is stable enough THEY are willing to place the order so its waiting for U when U walk in and YOU hear your name called OUT -

Also and this is beyond Beta stage - If you sign up for a web based Dating service? Google and Qualcomm Atheros' technology, are able to have Your prospective Eye Candy sitting at the table waiting for you to come in. You get Coffee n a possible Marriage or just a bed partner and its all done to please Starbucks YOU and the prospective partner - Of course Google gets a lot more Starbucks cash and the Dating company really chips in.

Back in 2010 Atheros pre selling to Qualcomm - They were paying Q lots of money for the patent which Atheros put in2 100's of millions of Chips to be added to Smart phones to Make Google real happy and in theory Clone Metæ thrilled as well - I mean considering how many Clone Metæ's shopping patterns are made more easy and even a guess as to wot movie you and date want see this Sat based on past movie tastes and why look up showtimes n theater locations when Atheros and Google can compute this for YOU and NO Charge. A free personal assistant.

Should point out - The Now merged Atheros technology was a few Billion bucks out of Qualcomms pocket which was/is chump change cause THEY frankly cannot figure out wot to do with the cold hard cash sitting in banks currently - No matter what they buy over the last decade they continue to have 2Much cash on hand - Such drives stockholders crazy as they want that money in their wallets - Company not like that so much so its a never ending game

Samsung n Apple were not happy buying one more chip which takes up room n power n there was lots of room on Snapdragon to just build in the Atheros Stuff -

How good is GPS + Atheros accuracy on location? 911 No's which room of house you are in and wot wall you passed out next2.

HP and others use the chips for Civil Engineer stuff - Tiny transmitters are being placed on mountains to see if they rise or fall Micro Millimeters. Possible Earthquake predictors and currently major predictors of Volcano eruptions - Stuff can be so sensitive that Military can in near future stick a rod in ground and sense foot traffic re depressions of soil - n of course accurately locate direction and flow of bad guys and calculate how many with limitations on weight but with software can come close to one person in 100 for accuracy It seems in labs anyway

Not that much market for military as they never buy more then 10,000 of anything other then rifles so no one should buy Q stock based on info I just handed out -

> Will it make me better at navigation?

Still comes down to Maps. Google may not update a location for a full month and much can change in a month - IF however U agree to be a source of direct Info to Google Maps then Maps can update a pot hole n include it - U can see where this is going - Will a Google smart car avoid the new pot holes n also send updates to Google Maps directly for instant update? Of course as its all 4free and drives Microshit crazy having to outsource the Map stuff which is poor n updates. U should see the new drones in Beta for Google Maps future - FAA new rules are the only currently roadblock so everyone waits but in parking lots at Google n Qualcomm the drones are working overtime in Beta mode.

> Will it make me better at navigation?
Bottom line - should help steer you to new Eye Candy aka Marriage partner faster then possible based on several Alpha tests already conducted - Being tested only among companies in tech and genetics areas in Bay area n San Diego Cal and New York city. The book 1984 did not contemplate such technology nor did the movie Back to the Future II forecast.

Thank you, that was a lucid and informative explanation. Of all your inventions, Syntax, this one is the creepiest. I think I'll leave it off, I don't need to know my location that precisely. A few meters plus or minus is good enough.

Google seems to be doing something similar, last time I was in Maps it had my home and work locations marked (I had put my home location into Maps but not my work) but for some reason the work location is a good half mile off, even though I go the exact same place five days a week.

On another note, what's with the name IZat? I said it to myself a few times and it suddenly hit me: it sounds like "I's at" (ie "I's at the corner of 5th and Main street"). Is this an intentional effort to sound "hip" or is it just a coincidence?

I think the conclusion here is that Qualcomm needs to hire better copy writers.

One I have no clue really how they arrived at IZat other then your explain makes sense.

Google of course uses the API as it digs in2 the CPU to do its bidding. Speaking off off by 1/2 mile - Few years ago I needed to attend an event 15 minutes away and used Map Quest - directions had me crossing a bridge (No such bridge existed other then as a planned future construction event) Farm lands east of me so the alternate route turned out to add 15 minutes to driving time.

> I don't need to know my location that precisely.

You say that now but the day you end up going to table at Starbucks and you connect with that gal and marry her - years later to discover the shrew she turned in2 was exactly 3 tables away and she was not there to meet you. The other guy with the more better accuracy connected up later with your intend b and married and now lives happily ever after.

They do say its ''LOCATION LOCATION'

Bottom line - As happy very very happy Google stockholder - Keep on using Google Please Qualcomm yes I own a bunch but Harvard Med has the bulk of my shares in storage till I bail all of them out - So for now - actually for now SEC says that is about all I can say momentarily - China issues are about over but so many many are looking at cold hard cash Q has on hands and say 2 selves hey I do not like having to pay so much to use Q patents - is there a way to reduce such - Patents end up making about 50% of huge Q revenue -

Its ok to say I continue to buy Q stock and can say I do not buy it on the Short side - Others do SEC if you are peeking in? How did I do? You have my email

This is a case of China mad as hell at not inventing 2G- 3G - 4G or for that matter not being like Swedes or Norway or Bell Labs or Vodaphone or Airtouch who paid the bills to get Qualcomm CDMA to connect more people to more people.

So its not just China its all the Eu countries that are mad as fuck at paying Qualcomm for 4G patents - China issue is more about how cheep can a phone b made when one might use dirt crummy cheeep chips that offer little but the cost of Patents to sell the phone world wide end up making China not so much so happy - In theory this has been resolved? Only the attorneys no currently until law says Stockholders have to b filled in. I could ask but then if I do my SEC restrictions get add on time so I no better then to ask for info that limits me

HATE Just Hate being told I am not allowed to buy or sell stock for X period of time once I get inside info -

Weird thing about buying n selling stock based on wot one uses as Crystal ball. Qualcomm 4sure has a warning on their 10K report and people who are serious about buying stocks should read the 10K

Wot if - Read any 10K to find that major chance at fail built in - The one or 4 things that can sink a company. I pass people in hallways and want to ring necks asking Hey U guys dumped all your Globalstar stock few years ago. Then U all start buying stock at dollars more then I did one year ago. I bought a huge amount of stock when it was 26 cents n sold a bunch at $4 bucks. Qualcomm for some silly reason buys in at several dollars more MORE? Wot were they thinking and Y?

AND this is only an example - Wot is a company worth if it owns Spectrum? Today a TV station with all its assets n profits often ends up being worth more for the spectrum it owns then all the assets it has - Qualcomm recently sold Spectrum to AT&T for few Billion more then they paid for it after not having any use for it. Globalstar has blocks of frequencies n I do NOT mean the current stuff in news about Wi-Fi Co-Use - I mean if Globalstar or competitor were to go belly up the Spectrum based on current FCC auction prices - the Spectrum is pure Triple Gold worth Billions n Billions n Billions of bucks - One block alone could sell for 5 TIMES wot company is said to be worth.

One spin off of Qualcomm I have stock in converted to AT&T ownership recently - Only for the spectrum - What are Crickets that Leap worth?

So if you really want to lookC Crystal ball perhaps a company that is fighting for survival but may fail but OWNS Billions worth of Spectrum - In the mean time I would offer a few tips but Sunset n low tide call and SEC still has eyes on me LOL

With dat its time to end my work day n hit the sand n then its lite dinner n Jitterbug dancing n then real dinner as one cannot really dance for hours on full stomach - C ya all 2morrow
