I don't have a preferance. It doesn't really matter.

I say Merry Christmas, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest which people use; it's the sentiment that matters.

I say happy holidays usually, unless I know that person is a Christian, in which case I'll say Merry Christmas.

Happy Christmas.

Neither. If you say "Merry Christmas" then half the population will angrily accuse you of being insensitive and antisemitic and forcing Christianity onto people and if you say "Happy Holidays" the other half of the population will angrily accuse you of being a cultural Marxist waging a war on Christmas and babby jebus and American freedom.

The only way to win is not to play.

Is there, perchance, a Libertarian way to express this? I would like to wish you a good christmas, but do not want to cause offense.

It's retarded to say Merry Christmas on any day that isn't actually Christmas. That's why we've had Happy Holidays and Season's Greetings for over a hundred years and no one bitched about it until some asshole wrote a book of bullshit outrage to sell on TV.

There's something called the 12 days of Christmas, not the song, but 12 actual days.

I will either say Merry Christmas or Happy Chanukah. The only people pushing "Happy Holidays" are those who hate Christmas. Buddhist, Hindus, Muslims, etc. also celebrate Christmas too. Happy Yule is better than Happy Holidays though because it's from the pagan tradition where Christmas came from.

"In most Western Church traditions Christmas Day is the First Day of Christmas and the Twelfth Day falls on 5 January, but for others, the twelve days begin on 26 December and end on 6 January."

So don't lose your shit when you see a Happy Holidays poster on December 13 in some fuckin' mall.

Horseshit. No one pushes "Happy Holidays" to be mean to anyone. It's one of several fun things to say for who the hell knows how long, certainly since 1950s when popular culture and commerce was buzzing with fresh Christmas-related entertainment. I'm pretty fuckin' old so that's how I grew up with these sayings.
