The thing is, girls that were fat while they were young and into their teens, are better people. Find a girl that was a young chubby that slimmed down later and you are sorted. Is it fair for them? Ethics is completely subjective, so I can't answer that. It's fair for anybody to say anything.
I think what you want to ask is more along the lines of "does it make me a bad person not to be attracted to a fat girl, even though she's got a good personality?"
Again, being good or bad is completely subjective, but my take on this is that it absolutely doesn't make you a "bad person". Attraction is essential for a good relation, and atleast to this degree you should not feel bad for being normal.
You might as well ask, if that fat girl knows a really geeky dude, really super nerdy, should she love him because he has good personality?
We are not all equal and it's best for her to deal with it as soon as possible. Liking a person for their looks is not shallow at all, it's just natural and everyone is like that, including her (and probably for a good reason).

Also, it is hardly the same thing. Obesity is a state arrived at through an individual's own actions, and is unhealthy. It isn't something to be accepted, but to be educated against.

Okay... And what do we do about eating disorders? We treat them. We recognise that their eating habits are causing harm to the person, and we try to change their behaviour for the better.
I admit I didn't consider this circumstance at first, but it doesn't change the issue with a fat acceptance movement. Choice or no, being obese isn't a good thing.
Oh, and to further clarify, no, I'm not advocating bullying fat people, or anything like that. I know I said some stupid shit beforehand, but I wasn't expecting to get into a serious discussion about it, so I was just being silly. What I am saying is that whilst fat people shouldn't be hated or anything, neither should their obesity really be encouraged as acceptable.
