There have been movies about assassinating US Presidents, though... right?

If you're not going to name any I don't really see the point of your post. Since I don't even know what the fuck you're actually referring to I can't really properly respond to your question, but in general those kinds of movies refer to fictional presidents, and even so they tend to not actually kill the president. Just a plot to do so. I don't think I know of any movie that ends with an american president dead, and everyone being all like "Mission fucking accomplished!" (and it being a serious movie also counts. Humour and shit doesn't.)
But yeah like I said, it'd help if you actually named some movies that you believed to be like that.

There have been movies about historical presidents who have been assassinsted (Lincoln, JFK, etc) and there have been movies where fictional presidents of the US have been assassinated but I'm having a hard time thinking of one where a current president is killed.

I think the Republicans might have a movie about Obama being assassinated coming soon. Don't back me up on that one though.

The difference is that in all of those the presidents aren't antagonists. In this one the killers are basically heroes (from what I can get from the trailers at least).

Oh huh cool I don't remember that one. Apparently that also caused a stir, but we haven't invaded and overthrown the government of the UK yet and the film directors and producers are still alive. Looks like Becky was wrong. Typical.

Sony is a company, not a government. They are being threatened by the government of a volatile and unstable country. This is a political issue that the US government needs to deal with, not a corporation.

Iam still annoyed that my valid argument is a retarded comedy with a country as its antagonist where you see the presidents face exploding and death of a president is a serious film

Terrific movie "The Day of the Jackal" plot to assassinate French president Charles de Gaulle. Made my French-Brit company under Universal Studios Brit n France and it is one hell of a good movie
Found this movie but have not viewed it yet > The Assassination of Richard Nixon is a 2004 American film, directed by Niels Mueller. It stars Sean Penn, Don Cheadle and Naomi Watts, and is based on the story of would-be assassin Samuel Byck, who plotted to kill Richard Nixon in 1974. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.
Doubt it wood have been a big deal to make this movie while Nixon was in office.
Betting there are going to be many many Youtube movies soon where people take a shot at many world leaders. Wood make a great contest to see who could do one good enough to pull off a George Lucas THX1138 student film which later made it to the big screen in a bit more bigger budget THX1138A
