yeah, i don't really care about the movie, but the situation itself is actually escalating quickly. The feds are reporting that they have knowledge who is responsible for the attacks on SONY and it's n.korea and as part of the attacks they threatened to wage a campaign of terror attacks on US soil, gave dates and locations, and warned the public to avoid targeted areas. If a country OPENLY did that we'd be perfectly justified in declaring immediate war and single handedly wiping them out, but since it's a "hacker group" that is "responsible" they get away with it. they just claim "they can't control everyone any more than the US can and the US has criminal hackers too" and that they can't be held accountable. but maybe there is evidence the hacker collective in NK is funded entirely by the NK government?
i just want to see those fuckers bombed, i'm sick of their bullshit attention whoring.

Considering that hardly anyone outside of the government in NK has internet access it's a hard sell to claim it's some unknown group of 1337 criminal haxz0rz in NK. Bombing them is one solution but regardless it's disappointing at how easily Sony was cowed by them. It'll take some time before any official action is taken even if it is determined to be without a doubt a terrorist act orchestrated by the DPRK.

yeah... but still, the gauntlet is thrown down. the buzz i'm seeing most often is people are calling it a terror attack. just the threat itself and the damage it has caused (like economic damage or whatever) they are calling it an attack. So as far as some people out there are concerned they might have well actually set off a bomb.

If they actually set off a bomb it would simplify things tbh.

Maybe it would be simpler if they shot up 130 kids in a school. The Taliban is trying to outdo ISIS, wtf is N. Korea doing? Proving that movie studio execs are shitty people by posting their emails.

Honestly, by backing out of the movie they're pulling the same weak whiny submissive bullshit that Comedy Central did when they edited out all references to Mohammed in South Park. Sony should not back down, and better yet let everyone see The Interview for free in theatres and online. Honestly, what's the point of living in the "free world" if everyone's too scared to exercise it? Sony might as well close up shop and move to Pyongyang so they don't have to worry about hurting Dear Leaders feels again.

I think we're probably missing a key point here: Sony is a Japanese company. Japan is within feasible striking distance of North Korea, and they're probably not too keen on becoming a bomb target for a second time. The fact that a country in which 99% of residents aren't even allowed to have internet access, was able to hack into a multi-billion dollar corporation would seem to indicate that they've been under-estimated, and we might be under-estimating their nuclear capabilities as well. I think Sony is stepping back from this fight because of the threats' proximity to their homeland.

Fuck North Korea! I have many Sony equipment. But North Korea don't even into Nintendo. We elite haxors trade messages via our Pokemon nicknames on our Pokemon cartridges, which defy North Korea's evil regime!

so it was released by piracy today. it's all over the streaming sites and it's in pretty good quality. it's like the studio said fuck it, just let the russians do whatever they want with it. anyway, so far it's pretty funny. not like slap your leg hee-haw funny, but more like a quiet internal laughter
