I would only use Wordpress, as I have gotten rather good at it. Would this succeed?

Why not?

Because you obviously won't be able to compete with any kind of professional. Some obvious reasons: Can you write custom PHP plugins to do exactly what your clients want when the existing functionality does not yet exist? Can you write custom CSS from scratch so your site doesn't look like one of the default templates?

@previous (B)
Yes. I have learned to do that through customizing my own site.

I doubt that. But I am perfectly happy watching you fail, good luck!

Could you show us what you've designed so far?

No thanks. This place is filled with obsessed stalkers whose life goals are to destroy websites.

If you won't show us what you've designed, then how are we supposed to evaluate your expertise?

You just want to stalk me, weirdo.

Get that spell checker and then we'll talk. Thanks.

The "nay", meaning "no," is the whole point. Naybobs are against things. They say no.

> Origin

> Hindi navāb & Urdu nawāb, from Arabic nuwwāb, plural of nā'ib governor First Use: 1612

Learn that etymology and then we'll talk. Thanks.

Anonymous A (OP) replied with this 12 years ago, 5 minutes later, 3 hours after the original post[^] [v] #514,133

@previous (Metæ)
As an educated linguist, I am quite familiar with the etymology. However, in modern English, it is spelled "naybob," to emphasize "nay". Learn how language works, and get an MA in Linguistics, and then we'll talk. Thanks.

Metæ replied with this 12 years ago, 2 hours later, 5 hours after the original post[^] [v] #514,138

@previous (A)
No, you either forgot how to spell "nabob" or made a typo. Admit your mistake. Making up fake etymologies (hurr, it means "nay, Bob!") is pathetic and denigrates the entire field of linguistics.

I took a break from IT when I got obsessed with minimalism as I needed to get over a block which caused me to focus on cruft, rather than progress.

Pragmatism was missing.

I am convinced that you can start an entire line of custom websites using WordPress or raw HTML5 & a small server if the interaction & implementation doesn't get in the way of the designer.

I wish you luck in cutting through the medieval IT bullshit and making things easy for yourself. There is a chance you will succeed, IMHO.

The web is your platform, not AngularJS.

Sorry.

I was 7 hours writing that last message and didn't realise the subject had changed to the etymology of naybob.

As you were.
