Nah, but I think its really cool. I like watching videos of others playing it.

No, but I did play Freddy Trims A Tree.

It's incredibly dumb. The only gameplay mechanics are selecting cameras and pressing four buttons. The cameras don't matter because the enemies teleport, so all you do is pay attention to the 2 rooms adjacent to your own and click a button when an enemy shows up. Pretty stupid. Might be interesting if I was 8 years old.

Simplicity doesn't make it bad. Plenty of people are very entertained/terrified by it.

Oh no. Some pixels on my screen changed and there is now some retarded mask on it. So scary!!!!

But seriously, it lacks any and all immersion. It makes NO SENSE. Why would keeping doors closed drain energy? It only makes sense to consume energy to change their state. The entire premise of the game is flawed.

Different strokes, anom. Maybe it doesn't do anything for you, but for lots of people it strikes a chord.

It's not just that it doesn't do anything for me, it's that the entire game makes absolutely zero sense to me. What is the purpose of having all the other rooms if the enemies teleport randomly instead of only moving to adjacent rooms? There is no purpose checking the other rooms, since they won't gradually be moving towards you. The cameras may as well not exist. The thing with the door power I already mentioned, also makes no sense. Why do they need a human there? Everything is remotely controlled it seems, no reason for the human to be in the complex when it's such a dangerous job. Speaking of it being dangerous, who in their right mind would put up with having such a retarded job. Risking their lives over guarding some fucking suits that become killing machines at night, and then keeping that job for multiple days knowing full well that the equipment you're given is absolutely inadequate. You know something is wrong when 8 metal bars, 16 screws and a screwdriver would defeat the entire purpose of the game (or you know, doors that don't consume power when closed... which again makes no sense).

0/10 game, would not play again or recommend to anyone older than the age of 8

Suspension of disbelief, man. Lots of little things in fiction don't make sense, but you can overlook the more trivial stuff quite easily. And the sheer danger of the job is played as a point of dark comedy, not a legitimate attempt to justify events.

As for the "teleporting", that's to keep you on edge. It would be very straightforward and predictable if they only ever advanced one room at a time. This way, when an animatronic moves, you gotta quickly check everywhere to find it again

I know, but generally games/fiction at least make SOME sense. This just makes absolutely no sense at all. The guy's job should not exist. The doors should not work the way they work, thus his job should actually be perfectly safe. The enemies teleport, but for some reason never teleport directly on top of you. There's just so many things in that game that don't add up. The only thing I'm willing to accept is that there are killer animatronic, and that's already quite a stretch.

When they take concepts that work perfcetly fine in this word (such as doors, I'm sure you've seen/heard of them) and butcher then use them as the entire premise of their game? No.

It is over the top, but I think it works. The job is dangerous to the point of comedy, and we're left to make some interesting assumptions about the protagonist who keeps coming back to the job. It might not be for everyone, though, sure. But again, many do find it entertaining.

As for teleporting on top of the character, that's just for gameplay reasons. It would be unfair to insta-kill a player like that, as the player wouldn't get a chance to avoid it.

Literally everything in that game is done for "gameplay" reasons (remember: the actual gameplay is just alternating between 2 cameras and then quickly clicking a button when something shows up there, so it's not like the gameplay is actually good), and barely anything actually makes sense in it, even within its own universe. They can power an entire camera system with monitors, but they can't keep a fucking door closed. There are teleporting enemies, but they just so conveniently don't use their teleporting ability to actually achieve their goal: Killing the player. Even if you were to consider that they can't directly control their teleportation and decide where they arrive chance would still dictate they'd eventually pop up in the same room as the player. The game is just illogical and self contradictory.

Eh. All I can say is that it relies on suspension of disbelief. Which is fine. It's okay that it's not to your taste, of course.

One additional thing, I should point out, they aren't actually literally teleporting, they run from room to room. Justified, in that they're actually pretty quick when they do move. This is sometimes facilitated by the cameras momentarily fuzzing up so that they can move unseen, which is due to either a technical malfunction or the work of the supernatural forces at work within the diner.

But, uh, anyway. We'll agree to disagree.

Especially note the "semblance of truth" which is sorely lacking here. And if they're running, then why do they not show up on intermediate cameras?

Speaking of this game, my 12-year-old cousin is a fan. He has it on his iPod. Knows about the child murder backstory and everything.

I looked it up, and now I want to play. But yeah, it looks like the way to beat it is just to watch the two doors for the lit up face, then close the door. Nothing more to it.

It's not quite so simple. You have to juggle doing that with searching the monitors (there's one animatronic that you especially have to watch), as well as carefully managing your power consumption.

Because the animatronics are moving towards you? That's the whole premise of the game!

Right... But we already established they (do the equivalent of) teleport earlier in this thread, with them instantly moving from any room to another. So what is the point of paying attention to any of the rooms besides the ones next to you? I am not planning on ever playing this game again, if there is an actual reason please spoil it for me.

(Spoilers, don't read this if you're planning on playing the game)

There is one animatronic in a certain room who doesn't act like the others. Watching him too much or too little causes him to "activate" more quickly, and when he does he quickly runs to the security room and kills the player. He can only be stopped by very quickly shutting the left door when he runs to you, which can be done if you go to his screen and he isn't there. You can also see him actually running down the hallway towards you, which can be terrifying. If you stop him, he resets.

He's specifically there to stop people from just "camping" the door lights. You need to use the monitor to see this guy coming.

How contrived. Alright then, I guess it's good they at least realized that the game would be absolutely retarded without, but yeah... contrived.
