I have several alpha beta prototypes of smartphones - all very much kludged and even masking tape to hold together
2 use IE 11 and are kinda MS type products
I can Sync IE 11 only to other MS products - cannot Sync to Android or Iphone
Chrome will Sync to Iphone and my think pads and desk top
I am a fan of tab browsing and IE 11 tabs are even a bit better then Opera and equal or better then Chrome?
If any of you has used a Unix work station - where one can open 30+ windows that all function simultaneously -
So back to a PC with IE-11 By dragging a tab down on IE 11 I can start to make my desktop resemble a mini version of a Unix work station - Multiple videos running at the same time in open small portions of the screen. So far as I can tell Chrome has not yet allowed me to do that without more work then just grabbing a tab to reposition any place on the desktop

You can sync IE stuff in Windows 8.1/WP8.1 right now as we speak (I know, I do both...). If I bookmark something on my phone, the bookmark appears on my laptop etc... same for stored passwords etc...
Also, Chrome allows dragging out just one tab out of all tabs and it pops up in a new window...

What is the O/S of the laptop?
I have yet made IE 11 sync to chrome aka Android phone or Chrome notebook - I am not saying it cannot be done but so far the way I have things set up it does not Sync and Chrome and Firefox do. Opera as well but just but...

Yes of course but try this on Chrome. Pull up a Youtube video on a tab in Chrome. Next tab do a different Youtube video. Now drag a tab down and you will get a full screen ok
Resize the screen so when you drag the next tab down there is room for it - See if you can do this quickly without the back and forth re-size and if you try a 4rd tab set aside some time to set up screens. Now can you run 3 youtubes side by side in Chrome?
IE 11 No full screen when one is pulled down and pull down next and it fits and you can do this with each video running without a glitch - very impressive - This by the way is SOP in Unix work stations
I have several next to me with not less then 24 open windows all running fully open and can with one click view anyone to make it larger and the rest are there in the background glitch free
I need to say I have NEVER EVER been a fan of IE in any version ever. This time I think they have really done it right. Shocks me that MS can do anything correct currently and such statement could get me in trouble because currently MS ends up as an Orphaned client. They are so very very very late to the party to get in2 Smartphones and one could even say they were there at the getgo and failed.
I don't think it will get me in trouble to say I have a
MS Beta Smartphone running Android O/S from Chrome/Google. It uses Qualcomm Snapdragon chip and the chip can run on that phone as a version of MS O/S (version is currently classified) or a Nokia legacy O/S and the Android O/S - Currently its running Android with IE 11 for the browser. AND I hate to say this but I like the Kludged Beta phone
Should state since I get blamed for hate of Brits which is silly - The CPU in the Qualcomm Snapdragon runs on a Brit O/S called ARM - Think of this as similar to application programming interface (API)
Except the Brit ARM is the Kernel and in this case the chosen Smartphone O/S ends up as a API
Nor am I being paid a dime to like or not like it. Just one more way to connect to Verizon in some version of 2016-17 LTE but doubt LTE as a name exists then {in my opinion only}

I run Windows 8.1 on my laptop and Windows Phone 8.1 on my phone. Also, I don't think you can sync in real time any two browsers at the moment. The thing you're suggesting that IE can't sync with Chrome on Android is just silly. It's like saying Firefox on my laptop can't sync with Safari on my iPhone. Lol.
As for the Chrome tabs. Didn't know it acted so weird, to be honest, I'm not a fan of chrome and I don't use it personally. I'm typing this on IE11 for a variety of reasons I'm not in the mood to type out.
As for MS smartphones runing Android and other OSes... just look at Nokia X. Microsoft is going products and services, if what you're saying is true (wouldn't be surprised) it's just showing that microsoft wants you to have a piece of them no matter what platform (just look at office for iOS, amazing piece of software).

Yes agree. MS is so far behind the curve there are scrambling to play catch up. Trying anything they can to get in2 the Mobile game. Officially several MS new products will be running Android. Nokia prior to MS buy out dumped their O/S in develop as you no - Qualcomm currently is full of MS employees who are very open about their point of view Only They think the company has enough clout to get in2 the mobile game. Just last week they got Firefox to dump Google Search - Yahoo is open about being willing to pay whatever it takes to free Apple from Google and that means Yahoo/Bing search.

iCloud users can now sync their bookmarks across all of the major browsers used in Windows.
Released on Wednesday, the iCloud Control Panel 3.0 for Windows can keep your bookmarks in Internet Explorer, Firefox,and Chrome synchronized with your Safari bookmarks on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and the Mac. Previously, iCloud supported only IE.
"To turn on the new feature, download and install the 3.0 version of the iCloud Control Panel. After launching the program, click on the checkmark for Bookmarks if it's not already checked. In the Options pop-up up menu, you can then choose which of the three browsers you want to include in the sync.

My version is from 2012 beta and it has given me no reason to go official release but if a client catches me with wot I am running I might get hands slapped.
