Topic: Alchemists dream of turning a base metal to Gold. I believe has almost been achieved

Base Metals (Meta you paying attention?) [Best way to generate money is through innovation-create new products]
My caveat of almost, is only because Platinum, is about to be replaced by base metals. A company North of me in California has just received a patent and has working models of Catalytic converters for diesel tractor/trailer trucks, that eliminates the Platinum which currently comes in large part from Putins Russia.
Stock Market today approves of this new technology - Just about every car on Planet Earth uses Platinum based Catalytic converters to convert excess hydrocarbons from infernal combustion engines to clean air. Unfortunately India Russia and China leave out such converters as they find clean air burdensome.
From wiki:
A base metal is a common and inexpensive metal, as opposed to a precious metal such as gold or silver. A long-time goal of alchemists was the transmutation of a base (low grade) metal into a precious metal. In numismatics, coins often derived their value from the precious metal content; however base metals have been also used in coins in the past and today.
A base metal may be distinguished by oxidizing or corroding relatively easily and reacting variably with diluted hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form hydrogen. Examples include iron, nickel, lead and zinc. Copper is also considered a base metal because it oxidizes relatively easily, although it does not react with HCl.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is more inclusive in its definition. It includes, in addition to the four above, iron and steel, aluminium, tin, tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, cobalt, bismuth, cadmium, titanium, zirconium, antimony, manganese, beryllium, chromium, germanium, vanadium, gallium, hafnium, indium, niobium, rhenium and thallium.
Doing this as new topic because Qualcomm says no to me (currently) about spreading the word about some MAGIC
As they ponder just how far I can go and trust this... its truly a new innovation that should also end up as produced by the zillons and offers possibilities that are frankly mind boggling Qualcomm/Google funded for what should be lots of fun and beyond fun for the future.
In the mean time the Alchemists up north have been very good to me (currently) New inventions on occasion end up with problems unexpected when one attempts to make zillions of them.

Unbelievably, it is about Chinese sewers.

If you are trying to derail threads?
Mods will pay attention and do as they did to you yesterday.
Just a haids up. Are you really really trying to get r04r and Meta on your ass again!
So adding content of value.
Yesterday Feds decided to stop pouring Trillons of dollars into USA economy by printing more money (Stopped buying Bonds-which is still printing money) Now IF I only had a clue what this will do to current stock market because history on moves such as this do not give a clear enough picture to place big bets without hedges on bets placed.
The Stock market has been down down past few days/week/ which is a very good thing if one says to self - wait a minute items of value are to cheep so buy them low and wait - only time to buy is when something is selling for less then its real value. Slowdown in the eurozone, china going slower then expected , inflation which ain't and has become the dreaded deflation.
Yet on the plus side is oil cost gone down down way down. Air fares should go down just in time for ski season.
Anyway 5 pair of wet shoes from High Tides days in a row - One almost dry so its wipe out inside and put on and enjoy a run on beach with tides bottom out currently yet still a 3foot high tide
and out of here------------------------------> Please be kind and no need to derail a money making thread. Money may not solve all problems and may not be the key to happiness (Thinks sadly about Robin Williams) and Don Williams who committed suicide in 1966 and invented a kick ass tiny pulse rocket engine to make GEO Satellites for Hughes Space a working reality - He also mortgaged his house in an attempt to help convince Hughes that space was where it was at for new business. Syncom's of only 55 pounds worked and now similar GEO's weigh 2 Tons.
Money is one hell of a tool to do as one wants to do yet far more important is having a well balanced life which should include healthy attitudes - Living - hobbies - and Wine Woman and Song/
Today will be a few more then 10 to make up for a few less then Yesterday

> > Alchemy was a philosophical endeavour -- turning base metal of man into gold through study and contemplation.
Alchemy was a Chemists endeavor and many many Chemists of years past had heads chopped off by Kings for fail to turn lead to gold - Now of course its easy to turn Lead to Gold very easy

@OP
Are you really talking about replacing the Platinum in batteries and fuel cells though?
Because fuck catalytic convertors. That's like developing a more efficient way of shoveling coal into a steam locomotive.

I almost read that as... > Alchemists dream of turning a base metal to God. I believe has almost been achieved

Unfortunately the Platinum in batteries remains the same as well as fuel cells. Not really all that unfortunate - 50% of the worlds supply of Platinum currently is for Catalytic converters - wood have to look up amount for bling but its also HUGE percentage. Batteries are a problem when people toss such in trash and they end up as burnt or in compromising places.
But totally agree that solving Infernal combustion gases unburnt with the after thought of a converter to clean up the remains - IS YES a crappy way of dealing with the basic problem.
Alas the energy from fossil fuels is still one hell of a lot of energy easily burned for energy/power. I brag about making Nitro Glycerin and for many uses it rocks, That said it always amazed me and others when I wood take a coffee can and swish around very little gas - let vapors fill can - turn over and with a remote spark (pair of wires connected to distributor coil) one tiny spark and that coffee can will take off high in sky like a rocket, Nitro for same experiment - not all that much action - Gas has so much locked in energy and easy to get it released

Yeah I've made Acetylene bombs. That shit is crazy loud. At an engineering shop my bud worked at the boys there got a bit carried away. It was a couple of little jokes that escalated into some of the windows being blown out and some ringing ears

LOL
Memories of simple stuff to make the gas. One of many shit I made to test for quality of explosive shit - Never knocked out windows cause lived near a vacant lot where rockets n bombs fireworks were safe to play with - HOWEVER my downfall and about the end of all that was the day I decided to chase away cowboys from attacking indians nor am I kidding a train cowboys on horses and Indians
Long story for another day as its time to end Friday nite on net and head out for Halloween fun - but bottom like is I came home from school and found my living room Standing room only filled with FBI agents with hand cuffs out to arrest me just me for for - nor was it even for the cowboy n indian event planned for the following weekend
FBI listed to my story from start to finish - made some calls and OTHERS were arrested in fast those who blew the whistle on me got arrested LOL
My Mom however was NOT impressed
Good nite out of here Zoooom------------------------------>

Yeah, I stopped making weedkiller pipe bombs when my friend blew off a couple of his fingers. We thought they were really stable, holy shit we had a backpack full of them one time, we were trying out gravel bombs inside dumped cars. After the accident the cops searched his place and found our dope plants.
