Current is all that matters I'd think.

You can't put a monetary value on the lesson you've learned though. Liquids and electronics don't mix. Ever. What kind of laptop do you have?

Back long ago in a galaxy far away
Around age 17 I sure felt that way. To get to work to take a date out to drag race it just a little bit and no it was not anything anyone should race.
Did damn yes I did just once race a Calif Hwy Patrol car from Red light stop. Totally sober at the time and forget who won but it was close one way or the other and was only for about 1/4 mile.
I think he was one of many who came to my rescue at work while be armed robbed at a liquor store I worked at. Never was sure.
Did that with a County Sheriff by mistrake years later and he pulled me over and said what the fuck were you thinking? LoL

It's sort of impossible to tell how much something is worth.
Market conditions are always in flux.

Bought my 1st car from my Grandfather - Kinda ugly black ford - Used all my spare money to build Ham Radio stuff so it was junk yard stuff to fix the car which was easy to work on - room to get in under you name it I learned a lot but also am total bad re mechanical stuff because take a carb apart put back together and worked but had a spring and small gasket left over LoL REALLY
Did not last all that long - Probably paid $500 and added $200 in parts
2nd was dumb because I trusted a gal I worked with at the Supermarket I worked at - Great pay for teen with bonus for part time and holiday hours were triple time with all union benefits for part time kiddlet, So had real money but got ripped off by car salesman husband of co-worker - Ford again which turned out to not require much repair over the years and was on hell of a great machine to stuff ham radio including home made radio telephone - Telephone in car back then was unheard of cept for very rich and mine worked more better then anyones including the paid for types from Ma Bell
Perhaps $3500 in 60's so wood have to figure out inflation to see wot that is today
Nothing I owned including many models of Porches later and the fantastic Alpha Romeo looked any thing like a Duece as in photo - Thought recently about buying such as they are for sale all over this area and I mean many many like on in pic is for sale every week here. Keeps thinking about doing that butttt ITS more a fantasy

You probably shouldn't encourage that retard to derail threads. Let's not turn this thread into yet another matt/syntax shitfest when it has literally nothing to do with them.

Earned just a few dollars/hr. First car was paid for in cash ...First newspaper delivery but all that cash went to ham radio hobby. Lots more cash made by buying a cheep power mower at Pep Boys and making brackets to hold it at fixed 30 degree angle or so. Looked over fences in hood for renters who let grass overgrow to weeds up to several feet and charged them $25-50 to mow it down. Found so many in hood that wanted this I had to find friends to work for me sorta - I bought more mowers and modified them and I think I took 25% of what they made.
Then TV shop job which sucked just sucked cause owner was ok but manager was a low down crook - Did learn a bit about innards of TV sets which was good/great
Supermarket ended up being my 3+ year stint to earn union wage and full retail clerk pay with bonus for part time work (they no do that anymore) Holiday pay was Triple Time and according to local clerks under old contract still IS
Was a terrific job - had key to get inside during off hours but that had to be after 2AM which was never explained - I could set my own hours most weeks. May just may have been result that my last name matched the owners last name - He had a large chain of such Markets (now merged with Kroger) Also got major even free Hotel rooms in San Diego caused they confused me with his family members LOL.
Never did meet owner but he and my Grandfather knew each other. Market was in a shopping center that had to shut down at 9PM so got a 2nd job at a liquor store - could work 9:30PM to 2AM
Got robbed 9 times. Twice unaware that guns were on me as I worked inside the cold beer/food case. Perhaps $5 hr back then? Maybe as low as $3:50? Enough to buy lots of electronic parts - 2nd car for cash and date date and date and take time off from work to make that work
Great memories plus money to make BOMBS ROCKETS n Fireworks - Biology and Chemistry as hobbies. Very fond memories given the biology led to early onset sex
