Great question.
Once upon a time early on in my career, from a technology point of view it was fucking exciting. Worked for a company that mostly did two things. Weapons for military. Turns out the technology for weapons was obsolete before any project began and totally boring. Never even close to state of the art for some very good reasons.
The other thing they did was technology for espionage. Always cutting edge or beyond as in could not be done but was exciting trying. Often ideas were great but parts had to be invented years later to make it work. And for young married guy it payed a huge amount compared to working on weapons.
Moved to working for US Gov directly. Pay not so much yet still at market rates. Been out partying and damn at moment its hard for me to remember why I decided to go US Gov directly because the prior job was as exciting and beyond anything I imagined getting into. I must have been romanced by? Anyway working for US Gov ended up having limitations similar to where I used to work.
In Engineering its similar to legal work - Company has an opening and they need a square peg to fit square hole - I loved being a square peg but viewed others who were round holes or triangles and coveted the work they were doing. But company insists on type casting - Law offices do exactly the same thing They need help on Torts and for the rest of your life Torts it will be (I minored in law which means Torts)
Because of super security one is discouraged one if a square peg from walking into a round pegs work area for security reasons. In a company one could find ways around that. For US Gov one can get arrested for doing that. I did that anyway, and found an agency that was wide open without such a rule, but few qualified for that kind of freedom,
OK so remembered while typing - One can work espionage without limits at least in technology anyway - If one goes about it intelligently but again no one gets rich doing that kind of work for US Gov. Pay is hard core fixed on paper. In fact the only way to beat that glitch in the road is to give up working Espionage and end up managing it. Tried that but that is no where near as fun as doing the hands on work.
One super advantage of all that is USGov very very smart. They encourage leaving Gov work to move to private sector where there is a need to implant US Gov technology. I cannot prove this is true but in my opinion it is and I did exactly that for a few years and made a small fortune that way. Yet US Gov never lets one go once they have acquired talent they want/need so they end up romancing you back into. No complaints - So it was back and forth but frankly if not for being able to do the same exact state of the art technology for the private sector I was doing for state of art US Gov - I would still be working for US Gov spies or a private company that works as arm of US Gov.
Back as still Teen the company I worked for doing Espionage spy stuff electronics - Wide open door policy. Not even a Bid or contract ever - Gov called for a meeting and we show up and they present a problem and it took only one engineer in room of 50-100 to say HEY I think I know a way to solve that problem maybe not sure but let me show you on black board
Simple as that - Of course often the idea failed do to parts not avail nor could they be made that year or next 5 but and this is key - do the work as far as one could - put on shelf and wait a few years. Bell labs does that in private technology. Even research without any currently end game
Did this reply over looong period of time while multi-tasking 3 different projects with two different clients AND all of my current work is 100% commercial EXCEPT every single spy agency without exception does use one product that has filled my wallet a bunch. Even Bien Laden had 4 of for communication use but lol he feared GEO location. If only - back then only good for 10KM accuracy. Of course after he left Afghanistan to Pakistan it would have been terrific if he turned them on. Someone did a few minutes after he was shot just for lulz

I do know two people with Meade as last names and have for 90 % of my long life nor is that their first name and the middle initial does not match either.
My memory is super good however. You once located one of the houses I bought for income/investment and still own and lease it out - Carlsbad next to a lagoon - A house not that condo and a lagoon just south of the condo lagoon - and you attached the Lynne G Meade to it which still makes nada zilch cents to me

Now now of course you do and I provided much proof. Now if you want to get down to the microscopic details of how much exactly of your own? that I cannot do without someone following you around as you eat out and then they have to get a test sample of the food at each place n run genetic tests against a sample of your genes to compare.
Not exactly practical and YES such can be done in modern science and wood make for a good episode of Kunming CSI:Crime Scene Investigation TV for the future.
