You could try the rice method, it might actually be your best bet if the liquid is all up in the keyboard buttons. Keyboards usually aren't that expensive or difficult to replace so that's hopefully not a big deal. It sounds like you got lucky and none got on the motherboard.

NO NO NO and NO Acetone NEVER! It can be useful in very selective places with a tiny pointed brush but NEVER on the optic plastic led keyboard sensors. Will MELT OK more like turn the clear plastic face into a foggy covering - pitted and forever useless.
The recommend of Ks in a pinch is not so bad EXCEPT rubbing alcohol also leaves a film behind on clear plastic. If that is all anyone has then washing in rubbing alcohol and placing the keyboard or guts of a laptop (if liquids leak inside) a fan turned up full blast to quick evaporate the rubbing alcohol along with its diluted gunk can work
More better wood be Cheep Vodka. Makes an excellent cleaner and does NOT leave a film on the optics or any other parts. A fan is still a good idea for fast evaporation.
Yea the web may say rice so it adsorbs liquids but again the plastic optics for each key ends up with a tan coffee film - Sugar of course in coffee for those who do, ends up being conductive so that is no good and takes more care to wash in Vodka dry with fan and wash again b4 turn on.

New issues have arisen. Every so often when I reboot the Windows install breaks and it needs to do automatic repair.

Restore your backup image and see if the problem persists. If it keeps fucking up you know it's not software related and you can move on. It probably is a failing SSD (unless the system is not shutting down correctly for some reason), but you don't wanna rush out and buy a new one without ruling out other stuff.

There is no single way hard drives or ssd's fail, they just die or start fucking up in some way. Usually they just die and your data dies with it. If the Windows install is fine, the cables are fine, and it's shutting down correctly then what else does that leave? You might be able to find test software for your specific SSD model, poke around.
