I as well use Chrome and or Firefox interchangeably and have never noticed a loading problem on either - prior to server change yes but both loaded slow equally back then.
Falco are you sure you let Chrome self update?

On this PC for instance on far right hand upper corner the three short stack of horizontal bars - click on that and look at drop down menu - Eyes down towards bottom to:

On several Android phones is only says About Chrome It then will quick scan your browser to find the version and if its not correct it self corrects very quickly for full update.
