What would make pedophiles a lot more manageable, is if children and adults reported them more. Everyone knows this but society fails to apply this knowledge
into strategy. If you confront someone who knows the victim and tell him/her about your concerns and possible abuse of the child, they might react in anger for various of reasons such as that they love or trust the alleged abuser. So the person who has the supposedly reasonable suspicion could easily decide to abandon their suspicion, ESPECIALLY since a allegation of pedophilia has perhaps one of the worst stigmas.
So you see, the stigmatization of pedophiles is in a sense aiding pedophiles to do their abuse in secrecy.
