Yes but its a huge country kinda huge like China. So I cannot say I have a great perspective other then a few MAJOR Cities. Smells in heat really really Stinks.
There is a terrific Jerry Seinfeld episode where the parents of a daughter of an Indian - they warn to never go to the bathroom in India and the smell.
Memories of Siberia in the winter where people have to wear a lot of wool in winter. Dry cleaning is non-existent. Sweat builds up over the years and the smell is is is beyond horrid.
Ask me what its like going to Church and that smell some tyme.
Indian people are very welcoming to outsiders. Among themselves its still the Cast system. Food is great but no way wood any sane person touch the street food,
As with China the washing of hands is just a way to waste soap. AND of course no one wood dare drink water out of tap. True for Siberia or India or China,

So recently I have made a few posts relating Siberia Russia to other places on Planet Earth
Water out of pipes for say Khabarovsk or Novokuznetsk and we be talking about millions of people get water that comes out honest to God as brown chunks- Yes mostly rust and loaded with killer amounts of Chlorine - Just across the street from Khabarovsk is China. On the Chinese side of the border the brown chunks require coat hangers undone to push into a pipe at home or hotel room to get the water to flow
Not me no way - Washed hands in soap and used bottle water to rinse same for hand shower -
India and Ganges people on purpose drink that disgusting fowl water that stinks so as to take in soul of recently departed one - does include soles of feet decaying as well as decaying you name it
Even more people take bath in Ganges
