MS in languages & finds MySQL beyond his ability to learn a simple Structured Query Language for "Linux, Apache, Perl/PHP/Python.

sadly no. I don't even know why he made that topic, he dropped it as soon as I named the price.

Fair enough. But I did some research, and I installed it myself! I have many issues still to conquer, but at least I installed the bastard.

Well, good job I guess. It's good that you're trying to actually do stuff yourself.

Thank you. My next goal is to have two forums (fora?), one in English and one in Chinese, but it is not easy. This week I will have to do some research.

What forum software did you use? I'd just try to install two user interface languages for the forum package you have so the user can choose between the two (there should be premade packs for any non-shit forum software), and then just make different subforums for different language themed discussion. Two entirely forum installations will become pretty clunky, users would have to sign up 2x unless you put considerable effort into having that synced, etc.

I used MyBB. I thought about having the user choose, but in which language would the "Choose a Language" be? Most mainland Chinese cannot read any English, so I am not sure. But yes, I can opt to have the user choose.

I don't know that forum software, but my first instinct would be to serve the language depending on where in the world they're connecting from (so people from china get chinese), and have the the select language be in both languages so you'd see something like "Select Language/Chinese Gibberish: (Dropdown menu)".

@previous (r04r)
Ok. Damn, I am going to have to research how to do that, but it sounds like an elegant solution. Thank you.

Well MyBB touts itself with having language packs available for many langauges, so I would just install the chinese language pack and see what happens.

@previous (r04r)
I did. It allows users to choose languages, but I Am not sure the average user would know where to look for that. Also, the average Chinese user cannot read the English that says, "Choose language here," and vice versa.

I appreciate the help. You are nice. Tomorrow, I am going to start anew, and find a way to do this dual fora thing. Have a good night.

ah yes. myBB
Has that non professional feel from the dark ages of Usenet. For instance this one is amusing
http://www.dishtracking.com/forum/my-dish-fish-farm-t-25839.html

Combines Fish Farming and TV Satellite up-downlink experiences
Kinda popular among Indians because they can still access TV on K band downlinks and the old Satellite also has very old TWT amplifiers that crap out so one needs update on new frequency to tune the receiver to in order to continue to watch a TV Channel
