I've used markers to give myself a fairly accurate dark green helghast symbol on the shoulder. Looked badass, but too nerdy to actually get. I'm not the tattooing sort.

Picture related, this is what I hope to get as my first tat. I'm planning on getting it done on my lower back probably on the left side, definitely not in the center. I heard it can be very soar on the spine, plus it will look retarded there. The tattoos design is nearly finished, made it myself. The only thing it's missing is a simple black hourglass that will replace the '8' in "W8".
The words relate to the Rihanna song "Wait Your Turn" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u965-x-l3w ) , the song as I interpret it is about making her man wait his turn i.e. she ain't going to give it up for just anyone. This is why I want to get it, anyone who see this tattoo will have waited their turn and it won't be on public display to just any man to see. I suppose it's a statement about me in general, the way that some people have multiple sexual partners in this day and age. I find the whole thing disgusting and immature. Call me old fashioned but I think a lot of people would be better off if they waited until marriage to have their first sexual experience or at the very least wait until they find someone they truly love.

I never claimed it was a masterpiece or that I was da Vinci. There is a reason why it's on the front page, it's a good font.
I actually went through several different fonts and layout changes over the months. I've been thinking this tattoo for over a year. Is it not better to think about these things instead of rushing head first into them?

One thing I would recommend is not to tell anyone about the design of the tattoo you are planning to get, because either:
1) They might/will try and put you off getting the tattoo or critise it's design. Unless of course you are totally positive that you will not be phased by their comments.

2) One of your friends steals the idea for the tattoo. I've seen it happen so many times it's ridiculous.
