A few things I see wrong with this statement:
1. Africa is on the other side of the planet. How can you contact a satellite above Botswana when you're in California?
2. An 11.5 MW transmitter would be huge. Wouldn't it be against some HOA regulation to have such a large piece of equipment on a residential property?
3. The C band is between 4 GHz and 8 GHz, but "6 meter" means approximately 50 MHz. Which is it?

OK fair question. First the competitive Multi LEO Satellite system to Globalstar is called Iridium. They decided to do away with the problem of Ground based Satellite Command and Control Stations around Planet Earth as well as the upload and download massive number of Ground Stations all over the planet by using only 2 Access points on Planet. So the hand offs are bumped Satellite to Satellite making for one hell of a huge amount of stuff it has to do and it does WORK - That Works Well and it keeps from having to get permission from each country it flys over.
ALL at the Compromise that there was NO ROOM LEFT for Cell phone quality sound and tin cans work more better for text messaging cause Bandwidth is almost non existent with Iridium. One cannot tell if its a male or female on the phone but one can hear each word clearly well sorta mechanical clear
So Globalstar - It takes all those ground based Satellite Stations to put up and Pull down the S band and L band traffic. This however and this is a Crypto message for some tyme in future Sir Sin Tacts so keep your eyes open ok

The size of the Dish any Dish say small for direct TV or Large for SETI - Think of it as a Lens which BETTER have Nada to do with wavelength because if it does it ends up messing up the wavelength.
So 6 meters as in dimensions ONLY is an engineering choice ONLY - So for instance with Globalstar - U yes U have a wallet with only so much money and you need to get X amount of energy sent out from point A on ground to Point B in space. Its a number depending on distance and it takes a LOT more power if the Satellite is just over the Horizon then if over Ur haid
So it turns out that with 6 Meters of Focus and Focus is the operative word and betting U NO wot ERP means? Effective Radiated Power.
I need 15 Megawatts of power to do what needs be done at a distance of 1150 miles UP at an angle of 14 degrees to the Horizon. I can get this in many ways. Could go with only a 3 meter size dish and that wood work. BUT its not going to give me the Antenna Gain - Focus the Energy efficiently but COULD WORK WELL REAL WELL - TOTALLY OK - Cept then it takes a massive amount more of RF OUTPUT power into dish
I think with wot u seem to already No U now understand that 15 Megawatts is no big deal. Antenna Gain does most of the work. Make the Dish 200 Meters and then a hand held device could be the transmitter feeding the dish for all one needs it to do

BUT back yard was in Mira Mesa at Building R Qualcomm in back parking lot. Just Two Command n Control Antennas - Which long term wood be Illegal re FAA rules on Landing Systems

So say U just have only one - Depending on shape of orbit in round numbers it takes 1.5 hours to travel over one point on Earth.
