You in Holland and want to move to Germany? I have no clue but Google wood. Probably easy but perhaps more easy to Belgium? USA to Europe? Again is Visa needed or NOT? Back when I moved a bunch of home confort stuff to NSW Australia and was on a Business Visa - Aussie Customs called me on the phone and said you have sit down meeting to attend ASAP. All my stuff stayed locked in Customs till I met and discussed and actually I came out wayyyy ahead as result. Aussies very good people Gov wise to work with.

Combo shipping large items at one shipper and smaller stuff Fed X handles - Again Google will do all that for you. Fed X can even recommend partners they work with who carry the big stuff. Doubt ya want to move things like Couches and for sure not any major electricial appliance if you are in 110 area now and moving to 220/240. China? Lol no no no no no.

You can talk to a forwarder about the logistics of shipping items via ocean carrier. There are also "do it yourself" online rate engines that compare carrier costs from point a to point b. Depends on what you want shipped, and as syntax said depends on where.

Its been YEARS since I have thought about this. Back when I was dating the gal I married, Australia was offering to pay any couple or SINGLE Guy all costs for moving and all expenses to get there and set up to live in Australia as a Citizen. Yea that was back when Australia had lost so many in multiple wars and THEY needed to repopulate their Island.
It was a good hunk of money and we considered doing it UNTIL my Gov tapped me on shoulder with that WE need You to stay here which was probably a good thing. In Australia I wood probably a sheep farmer.

This pretty much. I just take clothes, laptop and tiny misc. stuff like nail clipper, toot brush etc and money... if it's not in my pocket/suitcase it's replaceable. Would be a different thing if you have classy as fuck furniture and wanna move abroad... glad I don't have such...

Did that just once after my divorce. I said my goodby and found new digs and left everything except a bag of work clothes. I should have taken stuff to wear for weekend. Felt great starting out FRESH.
That said I am a horrid Collector of stuff from my world travels nor does it fit well all in one place so I end up paying OTHERS to store STORAGE. Recently I kicked 10 years of such as donations to various Salvation Army etc thrifts. ALL Those years paying for storage just a waste of cash.

Was so true. Buying some of that STUFF later cause we all do. EXPENSIVE or perhaps not given one had the freedom to be unburdened on the move.

Sell enough of your crappy stuff you don't need, to pay for the shipping of the stuff you want. Also realize that depending on the route the cargo ship takes, it can take weeks or a month or more on the water if you're traveling far.

1. Check what visas you need, if any. Apply.
2. Try to find a job or place to live beforehand.
3. Sell the stuff you don't need. Just bring necessities and anything that's highly sentimental, it's easier that way.
