Topic: Russia's Patomskiy Crater - "an evil place where animals will not go"

Externally hosted imageThere's a random, 130 ft. (40 m.) tall mound/crater sitting in the middle of nowhere in Russia, the origin of which is a mystery. It looks like giant underground rocks were somehow pushed to the surface. Trees don't grow in it, and locals and animals stay away from it. It's bizarre!

Sounds like my ex's house.

Russia has some freaky shit, like the Dyagtlov Pass, Tunguska, and that crater that is always on fire, I think this one is on Kazakhstan though.

Russia is really a godforsaken wasteland. I get depressed just thinking about Siberia. Or especially dying there. Did you ever hear of this airplane crash where a pilot let his kid sit in the pilot seat for a few minutes, and the kid accidentally the autopilot? And then the plane flew straight up 90 degrees into the air and then stalled and crashed into the Siberian wasteland. Ugh.

Lol I didn't knew about this, but I'm not surprised. There are cities(relatively big ones too) in Siberia where the mean temperature during winter is around -35Cº. Most of Alaska don't get that cold

I watched an hour-long documentary on the crash. I do, in fact, have the time for that. Thanks.

i saw that, or know about that crash. kid pulled back on the yoke, and autopilot doesn't actually stop you from making manual corrections, all it does is maintains a heading, so when the kid pulled back the autopilot tried to correct sending them into a hard rolling turn and they reversed direction too quickly which killed their airspeed and caused a stall and the pilot fought with the controls for 2 minutes and was never able to recover. recovery was actually impossible. sad. kid just wanted to be like his daddy.

but there are clearly plants growing in it, but it's mostly rocks, and there's little soil or areas in which plants could grow
