No, Becky, it really is not. Why don't my choices make sense? I have my own process for narrowing down purchases -- a very neurotic way, but it works for me. I just have problems making the final decision. It really is not schtick: I want people's input, and people here seem to really be into computers.

just get an older mpb or even an macbook made after 2009
you can put up to 8-9gb of ram in them but i forget which one, it says in the bios that its incompatible but its definitely not, works fine, the only thing is that it eats up the battery super fast which may or may not be a problem, altogether my mpb with 8gb kit cost around 500 dollars with the ram kit which is significantly much cheaper than a laptop in the same ram class
