Topic: watching battlestar galactica (1978)

i had never seen it, i had no idea that the 2004 version was so close to the original. i guess the story is pretty different, but they really did "honor the tradition of the original."

even the ships were spot on identical. i didn't know BG1978 had such awesome ships, i figured those were a modern invention. shows what i know.

also they even rehired some of the original actors, which is pretty cool. they have different roles, but it really fits into their cyclical rise and collapse paradigm of time loops or whatever. tom zarak used to be lee adama and next time could be somone else. i think that was one of the religious themes, cyclical time and roles of men/women.

kind of interesting if you're into that sort of thing.

ive never seen the rebooted series though so i cant make comparisons.

the reboot is wonderful. it's worth watching just for Gaius Baltar. he's awesome. but the dames in the 1978 version were smoking hot!
