Been working/living in South of France for a few weeks and back for a few days to do a quick gig as promised for US Gov on some FCC rule making re spectrum. Rare they listen to my advice in total but as long as they are willing to pay who r i to not take money for wallet. Plus I have a unique need to get my ego stroked by FCC.R only allowed to do email from work/living location by contract which sucks but trade off is of course the unique pay. Satellite is a brand new design for GEO TV in Eu and later everywhere else IF them who make this new design have their way. In mean tyme EVERYONE Else has been waiting MONTHS n Months b4 they will allow the ones they bought to be put up.
Radical change in design for many a reason which is all I R allowed to say. Customers can if they chose to go with older design at much more cost with advantages and of course some disadvantages. Is new always better then old?
Is win 8 or 8.1 better then 7? OF COURSE IT AIN'T - In theory after I return from my next trip to France I will have something called windows Threshold which is theory is Win9 but people tell me its not going to be called Win9 when beta is complete.
I was forced to accept upgrade on Win Word which has one fucked up Ribbon nor will windows allow support of older Word version so if one day I R allowed to use open sourced Google docs or the Libra thing - Alas my choices of software are limited by clients approved list. I have been playing with Linux on an old Thinkpad but r not allowed to go on line with it. YET Unix is 101% ok which just makes NO Cents
Rant over. Eating wayyyyyyy 2 much fish in France. I may actually end up wishing I could resist trying one more version of Bouillabaisse

I dont design guts of commercial Satellites. Do offer up opinions on designs but only on a design review mode. And then only IF Client pays for such. I currently do not work on anything but commercial communication Satellites. HowSomEver it is true every nation on planet earth uses them for their super secrete stuff but that is add on cyber junk they put on phones.
Nor do I travel all that much anymore. Been there done that for years but alas this current gig in Eu requires E-1 lines from a close by Unix workstation and my T1 lines and latency all the way in USA makes this assignment only practical close by the gateway to the Satellite. Location is frankly far beyond my pay grade so its cool its all paid for and owned by the company in need of their partnership in Satellite. Same company was also one of three in the original Globalstars so that is cool.

Yo math is not so much so good. Odd thing is so far I can do most things more better then when younger. Couple of years ago I needed to get reading glasses but still have no need for distance. I can run further then I could say 20 years ago but then again perhaps 20 years ago I might have gone faster? 20 years ago I was doing laps in pool rather then running. Not once not a single tyme was it easy to dive in2 to pool on a cold day. Running I look forward to Cold days. Just two days ago iT Rained like crazy while on my run. Adding a couple of miles and only cause its to a border which is well borders are always fun to run n make a stop at.

So is it always better to be wayyyyy younger? Wayyyyy younger means generally not much money to spend. Few toys. Always wanting better toys. That is a silly question. I would be a far more multi if not for daughter at Harvard Med. On paper YES. But only because back when market crashed in USA n one could buy a house or condo on the coast with ocean view and buy that house/condo at less then cost of materials or even in one case I bought a house on land for less then land was worth as defined by county taxes. Here where I live one cannot even buy a house at beach for under that magic 1.0 number. One house is several if u get my drift. I only own 6 counting the one I live in. 7 IF I count the one I bought for my daughter in Cambridge Mass but I do NOT count that cause it might take me 10 years b4 I actually get possession of it and that is ONLY if she chose to leave the Cambridge area. And I would sell that one cause properity management is NOT my area of expertise and so far away makes no sense.
Now of course all houses/condos have gone way up in value and all are rented/leased out loooong term. All but one is occupied by an executive from local Electronics or Bio-Med/Genetics biz.

YEARS n I mean Years ago I got my hands on IBM voice command software and tried it out while on a ski trip. BUT I could not view results cause the cell phone screen fogged up someThing horrid. But the best thing I own is on a bluff in Cardiff by the Sea and houses North n South of me on the same Bluff? Some back yards are NO LONGER THERE - Gone forever. My next door neighbor owns multiple houses on their chunk of land which is HUGE JUST HUGE and it includes Koi ponds and many a garden. But fact is its just 5 minutes walking distance from my front yard to a house they once had that fully slid down the very same bluff years ago.
So wot I own is in my opinion ONE DAY going to go by BUY or at least my back yard is going 2b no more one day. - How valuable will it b then? OK So neighbor's land which also happens to be hard to figure out value cause THEY DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TAX's on property - Self Realization Church does have some Land that is taxed but they smart nuff to keep that to minimum.

Mass n I mean mass of MS people are at Qualcomm daily as result of MS trying to get in2 phone biz and using ARM chips all of a sudden which for them means only Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. I of course tend to try and get inside info from them. This has worked out OK after my recent RANTS about crappy Win 8.1 and I did get a preview computer loaded with Win 8 and laffed at it and wrote my nasy report back at get go beta. Have wasted about 20 hours on phone with them over my rite ups. So in theory when I next return from France I end up with a beta version of Win9 BUT HAVE BEEN WARNED NOT TO Call it such.
