I, myself, am a picky eater. I've been eating picky eaters for decades.

disagree. picky eaters are people that are too picky to try and enjoy unusual things. they instead pick foods they know they like.
people that know cuisine know you have to be willing to eat outside the box, but also know you don't have to like everything you try. the difference between a picky eater and a food enthusiast is willingness to try and enjoy something different.
anecdote: my brother is a picky eater and refuses anything "weird" so he's never even tasted most things he "doesn't like." but he loves steak very well-done and slathered specifically and
only with ketchup... when he was in italy on business his boss took him fancy dining and my brother literally left in the middle of the meal and went and got a mcdonalds buger and came back to finish lunch in the fancy restaurant. apparently the chef even came out to ask him wtf he was doing... he basically insulted everyone around him with his picky eating, including his boss
and his foreign host.
when i went to italy for work a few years ago i ate pizza with fucking capers and mussels on on the fucking thing because my host said it was "the best!"
it. was. not.
but i ate that shit anyway just to not be an insultingly picky eater.
